Paellas

Originating in its modern form in the mid-19th century near Lake Albufera, a lagoon in Valencia, on the east coast of Spain, Paella quickly became an iconic dish of Valencia and Spain in turn. According to tradition in Valencia, paella is cooked by men over an open fire, fueled by orange and pine branches along with pine cones. This produces an aromatic smoke which infuses the paella. Delicious food and drinks. Lamb chops were awesome. The Meson old fashioned and sangria were quite tasty as well. Can’t go wrong with tapas especially at Meson Sebika!

The grounds are beautiful! So much care has gone isn’t their landscaping. Ponds with waterfalls, giant Dahlias, extensive gardens. We ate outside on a beautiful evening. Now for the staffing, it was one of the best orchestrated group of managers and workers I have ever seen. 2 Weddings, Large 50th Birthday Party besides all the many couples celebrating just a beautiful evening, Every table was filled. As soon as one table was cleared, it was cleaned up and reset within 5 minutes. So efficient! This was outside only, not inside the Manor. The food was great as always. A great time was had by all!

Better than Cafe Ba Ba Reeba in most aspects. Ambience, vibe is unbeatable. An annual pilgrimage for us from Bucktown.

We’ve been there a few times. Great food and atmosphere, as always. But this time, they seemed to have overbooked. We waited about 30 mins for a table with a reservation, and the waiter was pretty overwhelmed. Otherwise a good experience.

A West Suburban classic. The patio is duch a great environment, the staff is always on point, and the menu is very strong. I’m never disappointed at Meson Sabika!

Incomparable setting, service and food quality. Price is appropriate for the aforementioned and is never a deterrent to the extraordinary experience Meson delivers EVERY TIME. It is a jewel in our neighborhood.

While the service and atmosphere were enjoyable, the food fell short of expectations considering the price. Of the dozen dishes we ordered, only the paella was truly satisfying. The chicken was overcooked, the grilled flank steak was tough, and other items were equally disappointing. It’s unfortunate that the quality of the food didn’t match the price point.

We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely setting. The service was exceptional. All the servers were so pleasant and accommodating. We had questions and they answered them so politely. The food was amazing!! Each dish had so much flavor and we enjoyed several different plates. We look forward to going back soon!

We enjoy tapas and have often gone to Emilio's in Hillside. Since we were in the area, we decided to try Meson Sabika. The food was good, but not as good as Emilio's. We didn't care for the fancier atmosphere, which doesn't seem to fit the tradition of tapas.
