Established in 1987, Meson Don Felipe was the first Tapas Bar in London and we are still an independent, family-run business. You can expect great tapas and some amazing, well-priced Spanish wines, served in an authentic, relaxed atmosphere.
We have an outside terrace with heaters and umbrellas but of course, we can't promise the weather! If you book outside we can't guarantee a table inside if the weather changes.
For those unable to eat-in, we offer our famous Paellas for takeaway at lunchtime Monday-Friday.

    We are halfway along The Cut, the busy thoroughfare that links Waterloo Road to Blackfriars Road, just five minutes walk from Waterloo main line and Northern line underground stations (Take Old Vic exit from Waterloo Station). We are also near Southwark station, Jubilee line. The Young Vic theatre is opposite us and The Old Vic just along the road.

                                                                                    Salad, ham and cheese were very good. Paella disappointing and full of parts of the shrimp carapace, shrimp overcooked, not authentically spiced, service was extremely quick, everything brought out at once and crammed onto a tiny 2 seat table. Waitstaff very very friendly but also not at all attentive. We had to wave them down for everything after the food made it all to the table in a barrage. We made a reservation but apparently it was near closing time and the wait staff appeared much more interested in things like cleaning the plastic covered menus and other sides duties associated with closing rather than service, I would recommend the restaurant not take late reservations if they don't intend to serve the customer's properly after a certain hour. Ambience was okay. Not loud. Really I can't say I recommend this place. I would not go back or at least not with a 9:30 reservation. I suspect the situation might have been different earlier in the evening

                                                                                    Have visited this lovely tapas restaurant before and it always impresses with the quality of the food and great staff. Buzzing for a Tuesday lunchtime as well. Recommended.

                                                                                    Don Felipe has been a reliable pre-theatre or post-matinee choice for us for many years. The food, while not fine dining, has an authentic Spanish vibe, and the wine/sherry list is good. But more recently they have lost their sparkle: food and service show a lack of care and attention that makes it more difficult to have an enjoyable meal.
