Established in 1987, Meson Don Felipe was the first Tapas Bar in London and we are still an independent, family-run business. You can expect great tapas and some amazing, well-priced Spanish wines, served in an authentic, relaxed atmosphere.
We have an outside terrace with heaters and umbrellas but of course, we can't promise the weather! If you book outside we can't guarantee a table inside if the weather changes.
For those unable to eat-in, we offer our famous Paellas for takeaway at lunchtime Monday-Friday.
Thank you for all your support and we look forward to welcoming you soon to this little bit of Spain in Waterloo.

We are halfway along The Cut, the busy thoroughfare that links Waterloo Road to Blackfriars Road, just five minutes walk from Waterloo main line and Northern line underground stations (Take Old Vic exit from Waterloo Station). We are also near Southwark station, Jubilee line. The Young Vic theatre is opposite us and The Old Vic just along the road.

Fast and friendly service, a great atmosphere and delicious food. Mesón Don Felipe has been a London favourite for decades and long may it continue!

We regularly go here after visiting The Young Vic. There’s always a warm welcome, great food and efficient service. The room can feel a bit tight and noisy when full - which it usually is - but that’s no bad thing on a street with plenty of alternatives! As a vegetarian, I always have some good options from the ‘Garden’ section of the menu, but who wouldn’t want more?! A good chickpea dish, for example, or beans? But the tortilla, escalivada (peppers, onions, aubergines and tomatoes) and berenjenas (battered aubergines) will always keep me happy - and the vegetarian paella is fantastic!

Had a very enjoyable experience at Mason Don Felipe. This is the first time we have used the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was very nice, the portions we very large, the service was good and the ambience was very nice. Would definitely recommend it and will go back again.

Meson Don Felipe is an institution. The food was of excellent quality and consistency as ever. The ambience was buzzy without being overwhelming. The staff attentive and kitchen on it with food arriving quickly - which is exactly as needed. A perfect location for a pre-theatre dinner. Love it. Love it.

Very cheerful small restaurant with classic Spanish food such as paella and ham. Be sure to book as there aren’t many seats. Right across the road from Young Vic.

I’ve been to this wonderful restaurant a few times, and love it!! The ambience, the decor, the service and obviously, the excellent food, make it stand out above other Spanish restaurants. But with its location being in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, you see a lot of locals eating there, and regularly coming back. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough; it’s extremely authentic and feels just like being back in the heart of Spain.

This is one of my favourite places to each Spanish Tapas.. I did notice that the menu had changed, less options but it wasn't an issue, still a lot of my favourite dishes. The staff here are very efficient, pleasant and knowledgeable and I love the food. The only other difference was that all our dishes came together, in the past they came as and when they were ready in typical tapas style. None of this detracted from our experience, we had a great time. The restaurant always has a great buzz about it, I look forward to visiting soon
