The Merrijig Kitchen is housed in the historic Merrijig Inn {1842), known as Victoria's oldest Inn. Situated across from the Port Fairy wharf, in the heart of gorgeous Port Fairy.
We are HIGH on atmosphere and write our menu daily, after Tanya chats with our fish monger, veggie growers, local butcher and any of our wonderful local gardeners who may pop in with their backgarden produce.
We spend a lot of time on our drinks program, offering our local Henty wine region producers, smattered between regional and international producers adhering to organic and biodynamic practises.
We love a bespoke cocktail, which we make inspired by our garden and of course, offer local artisan beer on tap.

    We had a fabulous night - both the meal and drinks were excellent. Very friendly service and cute ambience. Highly recommended.

    Delightful little spot for dinner. Service was terrific and felt very personal. The home made bread was amazing and for that alone we would come back. Food was tasty and beautifully presented…. The only disappointment was we were too full to try the desserts. We will definitely will be back and recommend to others.

    Our meal was outstanding. We both had the soufflé and duck for mains and enjoyed them immensely. The service was excellent despite the restaurant being very busy.

    Another amazing Merrijig experience, from the warm and cosy environment, excellent and knowledgeable service and a menu that reflected seasonal local produce skilfully prepared by a creative chef.

    Merrijig Kitchen was a warm inviting and cosy way to experience our first evening meal in Port Fairy. The staff were friendly and attentive the food selection although a small menu was interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommended

    Have been wanting to come here for years. It was well worth it. Great, welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Lovely atmosphere, with log fire. Lovely food. Perfect winter venue.
