Mermosa PDX is a brunch and supper club specializing in gatherings, celebrations, anniversaries, birthdays and everyday meet-ups. We are known for bringing people together of all walks of life through our award-winning Oregon wines, welcoming atmosphere and elevated Caribbean + Southern cuisine. Please check our website and instagram for Chef's featured Prix Fixe menus, live music and our event schedule.

Signature dishes include Shrimp & Grits with Tomato Gravy, Chicken & Waffles, Jerk Cornish Hen and Oxtails with Coconut Corn Succotash. Wine and cocktail pairings on beautiful floral towers are top beverage choices - along with winemaker recommended pairings for Chef's Prix Fixe menus.

We made a reservation for an early evening dinner. They rang us 20 minutes before to tell us that there was a Moms Happy Hour with a limited menu. Then why let us book without that info up front? Or call us the day before? It was frustrating.

We had an amazing time here. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and the staff made it a very memorable evening. The food was unique, delicious and flavorful (I don't like bland food...seasoning was just right). We had a great evening and would recommend Mermosa to anyone.

If I lived closer Mermosa would be my weekly hangout. Desiree is a lovely, welcoming, attentive hostess. Wait staff friendly and knowledgeable. Space very open, light with lots of seating options—bar, tables, booths. Creative cocktails, yummy food. Shrimp & grits best I’ve had outside of NOLA, fresh fennel apple salad, Haitian curry beef empanadas got rave reviews from my friends. Vibe alive with soul, funk trio that had me quietly moving and singing along while we ate and celebrated life, hope, and renewed optimism. This was my second visit, I will be back.

Was so disappointed with this restaurant. It was our last breakfast on our vacation and the menu sounded amazing. Got there and the music was incredibly loud. We were aware there would be music but it sounded like we were in a club instead of a breakfast restaurant. Service started okay but progressively got worse and worse. We waited 45 minutes for two dishes and were disappointed in the food. French toast was average and the Benedict was dry, overcooked, and salty with too much sauce. They would be getting three stars if it weren’t for the aftermath. Once we finished eating the restaurant was fairly empty but our server wouldn’t come back to our table, we saw her chatting with the bar and other tables. We felt trapped and just wanted to pay and leave. Would highly recommend not going here. I wanted to love the restaurant but nothing about the experience was good.

Thank you for the feedback! We truly enjoyed serving you and the conversations. We are a venue a day party vibe for brunch and we do try to explain this in the reservation system. Guests usually linger, sip and enjoy the music and vibe for at least 1.5 hours (longer for larger parties). We do not try to push tables out as we love being a place where people can connect freely. We understand this R&B Brunch experience is new for the West Coast and Midwest and is something people are more likely to have access to in Houston, Atlanta or DC. We are proud to be the first R&B Brunch experience in all of the Pacific Northwest and will use your feedback to improve and help communicate the vibe better so expectations are met! A great spot where you feel like you might be on vacation, not in Portland. Decor is mermaid theme, with fun little details. The drinks are on the high end of the price scale, but delicious and beautiful. We had the mermaid water (mine with vodka), very tasty. Good vegan options for brunch. The fried mushrooms (their version of vegan chicken) are so delicious! I had the vegan bennie, could have been improved with the addition of a tofu scramble or vegan egg. But it was still delicious. The two others I was with ordered the french toast which they both raved about. Service was fantastic from the time we walked in until we walked out. Everyone was so nice and our server was attentive and happy to be there. Refreshing in today's restaurant scene. We have a monthly brunch and decided that this will be our new place. We look forward to returning in August.

It was my first time at Mermosa. I came for brunh in July 2024 and sat at the bar. The hostess, bar and staff were very friendly, engaging and were helpful in terms of recommending main courses and cocktails. The DJ was good, playing upbeat R&B and it was such a vibe. I'll definitely be going back!

We went with great enthusiasm to this place, but it was not a 10/10, the service was more or less, they were not very attentive to the table, we did not like the drinks 0/10 at all, at least the food tasted good (it was brunch menu)

The server had made a mistake and overcharged me by adding on another table's order, and although they noticed it right away it did cause me a lot of stress that day since the refunds didn't come until the next day. However, who I'm assuming to be one of the managers, Desiree, was very helpful and apologetic and did everything she could to make up for the error. I appreciate her sincerity and professionalism on the matter.

Makayla we are disappointed that the server rang your party in for the wrong table and are sorry it ruined your day. We were having a fantastic time celebrating with you and hope you enjoyed the flowering plant we gifted to you for your birthday. The server did realize the mistake almost immediately and took corrective action right away. Your deposit was also already refunded - it can take a few days for your bank to post. We wish we did not have to take deposits at all, but unfortunately too many large parties no show. The tip portion should have also been refunded and we will reach out to confirm and take any corrective action necessary. Thank you for visiting us and we hope this unfortunate situation is now resolved.
