Originally opened in 2012 on Roger Williams in Ravinia, Merlo's Italian Restaurant is BACK! Now situated on bustling Vernon Avenue in the heart of Glencoe, this family owned restaurant has the same traditional Italian style dishes & vibe you remember in a new and exciting location of our home town.

Come in and enjoy the warm atmosphere as a family, a couple or with friends. Our menu features all of your classic favorites, some contemporary additions, daily fish specials, as well as delicious salads, vegetarian & gluten free options and as always, crowd pleasing desserts. Very noisy. Could not hear guests at table. Food was not as good as last time. Salad was short on dressing. Will not return

I think we were there on an off night. Service was slow and somewhat inattentive. Dirty plates had to be asked to be cleared. The quality of the food was uneven. The salmon entrees as overcooked. We were given a menu with the previous week’s specials. It was very noisy as the restaurant filled up. We had much better experiences on previous visits.

Had a very nice experience. Everyone liked their dishes: Skirt Steak Velasco Chicken Cutlets Giardiniera (Special) Nana's Gravy Short Rib Pappardelle (Special) Appetizers: Shrimp Bruschetta (Special), Grilled Calamari Will go back again.

Food was not tasty. Brussel sprouts starter too salty and veal Milanese was sour from too much lemon. They comped the veal which was nice but overall taste of food was not great and the atmosphere too loud.

Food was good and ambience was very nice. Service was awful. Sat for 30 minutes before we got water. Brought cocktails and wine but the wineglasses were burning hot! When asked for another glass the waiter said it was the only glass available ?! No bread service prior to dinner.

Italian food at its finest!! From the shrimp toast appetizer to the delicious Merlo’s salad. The boneless Chicken Vesuvio, a very generous portion of 2 chicken breasts was outstanding!!
