Incredible food! Great recommendations from the staff, are way too much, sat around for way too long and had the best night!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We had a great experience at Mercato. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the portion was generous. Their food reminds me of Rome! The ambiance was good, a bit noisy for my liking but all in all I do recommend.

They had a new menu out from the last time I was there. And they also changed how some dishes were served. The carpaccio was slightly changed and the olives are now removed and have some form of mushrooms instead now (was not a fan of this). I had been a regular at this Mercato and this is the first time I was not happy with the main course I ordered. I had their new halibut dish and it was very dry. I didn't even finish it as it was not very good at all. I had problems swallowing it and had to drink several glasses of water to get it down. Due to the fact it was so dry and I had hoped it was just the edges, unfortunately, it was dry throughout. They did offer to get me another one though, and I had turned it down as I had to be elsewhere. They also did some changes in the bar side and it was darker there than usual as they took out the hanging glass holders and they had no lighting there yet. It was somewhat difficult to read the menu honestly. I may have caught the change with the carpaccio then if I could read the menu better. So far, I am not a fan of this new menu just from the regular starter I have that was changed and the new dish that was not very good. I hope that things get better the next time.

Mercato mission has always been a go to for my birthday for the past few years and really enjoyed the food and service for casual dining and parties. This visit was more dissatisfying. Started with the service. The server found we’re only going to be a party of 2 and didn’t show anymore of the hospitality didn’t follow up with how our food was answered when delivery of the food came dropped the tongs for both the side dishes, missing the class that mercato is known for. But had the time for the table behind us as they were a party of 8. We had ordered the small smashed potatoes and the asparagus for starters. The potatoes lacked flavour and tasted like they were just boiled and put under a heat lamp and dried out. The asparagus was equally bland. We had ordered 2 pasta dishes. Rigatoni and Linguine. The rigatoni was spicer than usual. Is was okay. Noodles were over cooked. The linguine came with shells and lacked the meat from the clams and the ones that did have meat were gritty and small. The whole dish tasted like Korean gochuchang sauce overly spicy not at all enjoyable. For an Italian restaurant. It’s lacking the traditional flavours that it’s known for. Right down to the brownie for dessert, the recipes have clearly changed and not for the better. Unfortunately it seems more commercial. I’ll probably won’t be back for any other celebrations for a long time.

Food is top tier , traditional italian exp. can’t say enough about how well they curate the vibe and menu. A true gem in the city ♡

Food was excellent, server was a bit …. He kept interrupting to fill water without announcing/ excusing himself , but overall excellent, would still definitely dine there again.
