Le Mercat a La Planxa vous propose une extraordinaire sélection de tapas à base de charcuterie et de fromages à la coupe, de fruits de mer frais, de steaks et de côtelettes, toutes inspirées de la gastronomie catalane en Espagne. Le menu impressionnant met l'accent sur des viandes et fruits de mer servis « à la plancha » ou grillés sur commande. Le bar sert une gamme alléchante de boissons de saison, notamment de sangrias et de cocktails de style espagnol. Par ailleurs, il propose une sélection de cavas d'Espagne ainsi qu'une quarantaine de grands crus espagnols disponibles au verre ou à la bouteille. The service was excellent as well as the food. The paella was delicious both the seafood and meat. The bacon wrapped dates were very good as well as the scallops.

We went to Mercat before a show downtown. The dining room looked very pretty with Christmas decorations, but I thought the food and service were adequate but not anything particularly exceptional.

Food tasted great, service was wonderful, our server gushed about the food immediately, and was not wrong. The steak was the highlight, the gambas, pulpo and bacon wrapped dates were also memorable. My partner's cocktail was refreshing, something not too often said about a rum drink. I got a NA beverage that was way too sweet. Room is kinda weird; a battle of old and new. Chandelier mounts, with a myriad of hanging pendant lights, painted mirrored walls and hotel banquet hall floors. Still worth the visit. I will note, for a party of two, it was interesting to see how many dishes had an odd number of pieces. Where I'm from, dishes may be adjusted to allow each diner at least one piece of an item.

Yummy! We had a nice meal before a show at the Auditorium. Bacon dates, figs, potatas brava! A little bit of this a little bit of that. Perfect nosh before the show!

Location chosen because of proximity to Auditorium Theatre and prior dining experience there. Found it less desirable this time. Not bad, just seemed rushed. Loud space.
