Food and drinks were very mediocre and overpriced. $15-18 for 2 small tacos with a tiny ramekin of runny, under-seasoned beans. Everyone’s tacos completely fell apart so we had to eat the contents with a fork, the chicken tinga was incredibly dry, queso was bland and cold, margs were just ok. And what Mexican restaurant doesn’t have any Mexican lagers? Only Modelo Negra, which is a dark lager - and the tap apparently blew so the only option was a German lager (??) and an IPA. Service was fine. Overall the prices don’t come close to justifying the taste of the food/drinks.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Mercado by Butchertown, and I can't recommend it enough! This upscale Mexican restaurant combines creativity with a warm atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for both a casual night out and a special occasion. From the moment we walked in, the vibrant crowd and inviting ambiance set the stage for a delightful evening. Our waitress, Avery, truly elevated our experience by helping with recommendations, and even bringing out two excellent wines for us to taste, ensuring we found the perfect match for our meal. The wine list may be small, but it’s thoughtfully curated, showcasing quality selections that complement the menu beautifully. One of the standout features of Mercado is the rooftop bar. You would not necessarily know that they have one, just upon walking into the restaurant. You go to the back and take an elevator to the top floor. With stunning views of the city, it’s the ideal spot to unwind with one of their cocktails. The lounge furniture adds to the relaxed vibe, making it a great place to enjoy drinks with friends. While it can get crowded on popular nights with a younger crowd, I can see it also being a lovely escape for anyone looking to soak in the scenery on a less busy day. Overall, Mercado by Butchertown offers an impressive dining experience with fantastic food, creative cocktails, and a beautiful rooftop space. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a must-visit gem in the city!

Good food and vibe. Waiter was insanely chill and checked on us maybe 4 times within the two hours we were there? Probably would go back. May check out the rooftop.

Maybe Sunday brunch is an odd time, but we ordered and expected them to space it out. Everything came out at once, and they didn’t tell us which oysters were which. It was a little bit of a frustrating experience but the food was good.

We went for brunch on a Saturday. It wasn't busy, which is hard to find in Nashville. The food was fresh and portions were spot on. Brisket breakfast tacos had a bunch of meat and eggs on them. Oysters were great too! Ambiance was nice and had a great vibe. The music playlist was fun as well! Service was attentive and checked in frequently. Will definitely come back again.

Margaritas were the highlight of my brunch. , the food was ok but didn’t stand out. I didn’t like the fact that you can order individual tacos, many other spots in Nashville operate this way. I wanted to try a few different breakfast tacos but was told I had to order two or three of the same kind. Why would you limit how options a customer can try? They didn’t have any hot sauce, which I also found weird for a place with an emphasis on tacos.

The food was amazing! We got the Baja Fish Tacos which were memorable. Also got the Seared Scallops Tostada. Will definitely be going back - often!
