The first Michellin Star of Surbiton should go to Mem’s! Many thanks for the special Amuse Bouche with spinach stuffed bulgur roll a la Mem’s -it’s delicious and very healthy too

The food was delicious as always but unfortunately we were put in the back outside part of the restaurant even though had called and asked to be in the main restaurant. The back room has a very strong smell of drains. The restaurant is very good value for the quality of food but would not want to ever be out in the back room again, there is little atmosphere. A real shame as I was taking friends who don’t know the area.

We had a lovely evening at Mem’s by there were a few areas that could be improved which meant I couldn’t give it 5 stars: 1. We had pre-dinner drinks downstairs - unfortunately the bar had zero atmosphere & a slightly awkward barman 2. Our waitress was very nice but seemed very inexperienced - she literally couldn’t answer a single question without referring elsewhere - eg “can I have a starter as a main course” & when the side dish failed to come she just said the kitchen hadn’t given it to her 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3. We sat in the converted garden extension - it felt a bit like camping out compared to the main dining area

A really nice place but we were the only people in there for Lunch which was na bit strange. However very nice young guy serving us although in comparison to the French Table service it was a bit amateur. Very nice food and good cocktails and reasonably priced Rose wine. It's a shame they did not offer the lunch set menus and frankly we did not want to spoil our Anniversary meal by complaining when the bill came so we paid a la carte prices. I had mentioned to the waiter about the set menu but I don't think he understood. Also despite adding that its was our Anniversary to the Open Table booking there was no mention of this at the meal. Again poor comparison to the French Table. It's a really nice place that I hope is a big success but it needs to get its level of service up to match the excellent food and drink.

First time since new ownership, place looks fab, food is top notch and the service is very friendly. Quality, premium meal, reasonably priced and easy ambience.

We're not very blessed with a wide choice of great food restaurants in Kingston and Surbiton buy Mem's is a welcome addition. It ain't a traditional fine dining experience- tables a bit too close together - but the (limited menu) food was delightful (oh good lord the freshness of the tuna and seabass starters and the divine smell of the moelleux as I broke into it). Service was attentive without being cloying. And not stupidly priced. Recommend.

Excellent food, in particular the lobster and wild mushrooms; and I loved their readiness and friendliness to accommodate my nutrition preferences . We look forward to going back regularly.
