Loved this restaurant. Very Classy and romantic. Food was really good. Go for the chicken pot pie.

Melvins is an elegant and lovely place that has the charm of days gone by and yet all the current lovely things on the menu. It has been a personal tradition of mine to make a trip to Palm Springs to have my birthday dinner at Melvin’s It never disappoints.

This was our first visit to Melvyn's and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. My one minor issue was that there was recorded music being played in the dining room and live music in the bar. We were seated close enough to the bar that we could hear both and it was somewhat distracting. Melvyn's is pretty high-end so it's a good place for a splurge or special event.

What a lovely experience! Ingleside Estate is in a perfect location and Melvyn's has superb ambiance! The food was delicious! Our server, Shelley, contributed to our gathering with delightful attention!

Step back to old-time dining experience with live music coming from the bar. The food was very good. Only complaint was watery Caesar dressing. Still tasted good. Steak with frites was excellent, as were the cocktails. Waiter was professional, just not as engaging as we would have liked. Other disappointment: despite published dress code, diners in shorts were in the restaurant. Why have a dress code if it’s not enforced?

Regarding our drsesscode, we have a 'resort casual' drsesscode which includes shorts as we are in the desert. We simply ask gentlemen not to wear flip-fops, tank tops or ball caps. Over priced. Food is OK, lots of water refills… not as good as it used to be.

This place is very pretty and the staff are kind- but I’m so bummed I held a very important meal here for my family. Every item was inedible and I’m not exaggerating . It’s insane to spend this much money on a plate of food and not have it be good. The garlic chicken didn’t seem to have garlic and was served with lentils so heavily flavored with cumin that they ruined the plate. We also tried to order alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. All of them were too strong. One of us ordered a virgin margarita and the drink was just the margarita mix with salt- which is insanely concentrated and seems to be mostly lime juice. Also, the establishment just smells bad. Walking in you can smell the restrooms or sewage as your standing at the just stand. And the entire front part is either filled with the stench of old cigarette smoke or something similar. Overall, this place presents itself as fancy online, but it is a old tired and needs a new chef restaurant
