The name Melina is rooted in Greek origin and derives from the Greek word for "honey". "Mel" can be derived from the name Melissa meaning "honey-bee". The restaurant is named after the daughter of Co-Founder Chef Dimitri Moshovitis. “Melina” will honor the strength of the matriarchy in the Greek family. It will lean vegetable-forward with modernized Greek classics from the sea and grilled meats. Greek cuisine is all about freshness and quality of ingredients and that will be on display in a fine casual setting.

Lovely, high-end place. Fine service, fun drink menu. Not very flexible in accommodating food sensitivities or substitutions.

The server was very descriptive when explaining the dishes. Nice ambience. The food was delicious and well presented. Nice touches. They remembered to acknowledge my husband’s birthday and paid attention to small details. We will return.

We had the crab shashuka, lamb pita with egg, and short rib...all were very yummy. Although the egg on the lamb pita was not runny because it was sitting on the serving table too long, the server kindly changed out the dish and the new dish had an egg that was perfectly runny. Our appetizer of grilled bread with muhammara was wonderful. However, my favorite dish was the recommended donut dessert...warm, soft, non-greasy donut holes with creamy homemade vanilla ice cream, enhanced by dunking the donuts in the sweet honey and topping with the finely chopped walnuts. :-)

Our server was great. Not intrusive at all but around when we needed him. Food was delicious!

The food at Melina is simply amazing. The veggie side dishes alone could be a fantastic meal (especially the butternut squash, Mushroom pasta, and carrots. The tuna tartare is so unique and delicious I could easily have made a meal of that alone. The mushroom “souvlaki” entree was original and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable about every dish in the menu, which is not often the case and was much appreciated. The only downside side is that the noise level is near deafening and the decor is so minimalist that it is somewhat spartan, although the booths are comfortable. We will definitely come back but will ask for a corner table to hear each other better!

I thought this was very OK. The food was original but the flavor lacked anything special. I tried the steak tartare and had intestinal issues the next day - maybe not related, but I won’t be taking that chance again (never had an issue previously). The ambiance was nice. Our waiter was friendly but disappeared twice when we had to ask others to ask him to come to the table. So very OK but not worth the price of the dishes.

I went there for a birthday lunch with a good friend. She had the lamb pita and I had the salad with roasted Cod. It was all delicious. They surprised my friend with a complimentary birthday desert which was fabulous. The prices are reasonable and our waiter was attentive. I would highly recommend having a meal at Melina.

First, the waitstaff was so nice and attentive and just made us feel very welcome. The noise level is loud. The food, although nicely presented, was very salty. Greek food has lemon and fresh herbs - both of which should have been more present. They are very nice about us sharing food and happily brought containers for us to take home leftovers. I had mentioned on the reservation that it was our anniversary and they brought us a kind card, some sparklers, and a lovely blood orange sorbet. They need to put less scented soap in the bathroom - it was so strong that I had to wash my hands 4 times at home to get the smell off.
