Please allow us 15 minutes to seat you after your full party has arrived and after checkin at our host stand. As we do only one thing, we do our best to make the food and experience exceptional and also a good value. Food was good & service was great! I’ve been to Medium Rare in DC a handful of times, so I was excited to try the Columbia location. The food is pretty standard and there’s a variety of options for brunch- all include steak but the French toast :) service is wonderful! we sat outside around 1:30 and I would say, if you’re afraid of bugs, sit inside! The restaurant can’t help this, but there are so many lantern flies, and they may just land on you. Definitely a good spot for a large group because of set menu pricing.

Good not great. Plenty of staff yet, it took a while to get our water glasses filled, when we received bread, it was one basket (6 pieces for 8 people), when we did ask for more bread, it didn’t come, had to ask again. Only half of us received steak cooked as ordered, when it’s the only item on the menu, it should be perfectly cooked to our request. The steak has a robust flavor and was tender. Salad dressing was extremely salty. Almost inedible for some. Fries were the best item, thin crispy lightly salted. The refills came without asking, and were necessary to feel full. It was a busy Friday night, outdoor tables were still occupied even at 9:30. Indoor was emptying out. I’d give it another try if I were craving a steak and frites.

Love the menu, plenty of food. The voices in this space are amplified tremendously. Very loud hard to hear a conversation at your table.

Fast service due to the prix fix menu, but the result is excellent consistency in the plates. Went before a concert at Meriwether, it is just across the street. Sit on the outdoor patio if possible!

This was our first time at this location. Restaurant looked nice and clean. Love how they give you extras on the steak and fries. Took some home and reheated it and added a fried egg for an excellent breakfast. Service was fair. Our server wasn't necessarily rude, but just polite enough.

Food was good but the waitress was not very good. Because this is a different concept when we sat down it would have been nice to explain how they do things at this restaurant. She also seemed to neglect a few other tables but thankfully the host was paying attention and helped a few tables out when waiting to pay. Would go back.

Took a friend to Medium Rare for an early birthday celebration. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and was super tasty and tender. Medium Rare is the prime example of a restaurant that isn't trying to be everything for everyone but one which is focused on perfecting every item on their limited menu. The waitstaff were very attentive without being intrusively so. We will definitely be back!

I’m not entirely sure what to make of this restaurant. There is only one option on the menu, and we’re don’t drink alcohol, so ordering was easy. The steak and fries was really good, but was hoping for more steak than fries… when we finished, we were ready to order dessert, but the waiter came by and dumped more steak and fries on our plates before we could say anything. We didn’t even know that would happen because nobody explained how things worked. So it was good, not great, and a bit of a confusing experience, but overall the food was good and ambience was wonderful and a really great location
