Legendary Medium Rare offers a unique, prix fixe dinning experience of artisan bread; a mixed green salad; prime, dry-aged steak; and hand-cut fries (Vegetarian option always available) in a relaxed, fun, environment. Please allow us 15 minutes to seat you after your full party has arrived and after checkin at our host stand. As we do only one thing, we do our best to make the food and experience exceptional and also a good value. We also serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday's with a great prix fixe including French Toast, Steak and Eggs, Eggs Benedict and bottomless Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Screwdrivers. WALK INS and CALL AHEAD seating are always welcomed..

The steak was delicious and well cooked. Unfortunately, our bread was too hard and the salad was overdressed. We also thought it was too loud in the restaurant and had a difficult time hearing one another. Also, their lighted sign kept flickering on and off, which was quite annoying.

Wait staff don’t mention you get two servings of the same meal. It’s rump steak sliced thin. 4 ounces maybe of steak in both servings. Salad was just lettuce and dressing. Bread service was basically croutons it’s so hard.

Medium Rare is a go-to if you’re in the DMV. We were greeted with a smile. Daniel, our server, was amazing, very fast service, and even came to fill up our wine glasses throughout our meal.

Always enjoy eating at your restaurant but the noise level is a bit extreme. Very difficult to have a conversation.

This was our first time at Medium Rare, we really enjoyed our evening. The food was fantastic, the service was great, we parked very close and the cost was very good for the quality of the food. We made another reservation to eat here when our son is home from college in late November and are looking forward to bringing him!

We've been here twice. Obviously we liked it enough the first time to go back again. The menu is simple and everyone gets the same thing: artisan-baked bread, a salad, a plate of sliced steak and frites. The only decisions you have to make are what to drink with your meal, whether you'd like an additional side (like grilled mushroom) and how you want your steak cooked. And when you finish your steak and frites, they bring you another helping! You will leave satisfied. They do have desserts, if you're so inclined, like a giant ice cream sundae. But we were so full both times that we couldn't even think about dessert. There were some small hiccups. Our server brought us salads after we'd already had our salads brought to us by another server. And my wife's steak was overcooked so she had to send it back. But that's not uncommon in steak places. It certainly won't keep us from going back!

Medium Rare is always a good experience, and the value can't be beat. One of my favorite places in the DMV for steak.

Dining el fresco was the right call on the beautiful fall day. The food was decent, but a few things were subpar: e.g., the grainy texture on the meat in the eggs Benedict; the mealy texture of the chorizo sausage. The French toast was quite delicious. The Bloody Mary drinks were tasty, but somehow appeared on our bill as three times the $.25 price advertised—still a deal, but we didn’t appreciate the bait and switch. The French fries were hot and crisp and the warm rustic bread was also a treat. Overall a pleasant brunch, just not quite worth the near $50/head price tag with tax and tip.
