Excellent food in a lively Pearl District setting. We ordered the generous kale salad that easily fed two, the octopus, the crispy lamb hummus, and the warm pistachio cake. Hadn't been to MEC in quite a while and it lived up to my memory.

Server was pleasant and the food, all-in-all, was great! The dessert was just okay but everything else was pleasant.

For a first experience at MEC, we were very pleasantly surprised. For 3 person family dinner, we tried many items on the menu, from bacon wrapped dates to sweet potatoes to brick oven chicken to shrimp to hummus and finished with excellent desserts. The service was top notch, providing details and explanations on the menu items and plenty of water. I look forward to going again.

We sat at the bar, which was very comfortable and didn’t feel crowded. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, and provided excellent recommendations and very knowledgeable answers to questions. The food was absolutely fantastic! The bold flavors complemented the presentation perfectly! Wonderful restaurant, not to be missed!

The food and service were great! I found the music to be a little loud making conversation in that space a little difficult.

Excellent food, really special. The service was great. It was too noisy--we had a noisy table behind us & had to almost shout to talk. But I do love the food..

Open 7 days a week, MEC is one of the few Sunday night date night restaurants in Portland. Everything is outstanding here: superb Greek and Mediterranean delicacies, inventive combinations of flavors, unusual wine choices, lovely wait staff, prompt and efficient. Why haven’t you booked already? The counter seating is fine if you can’t get a table. Go!
