We had the most wonderful meal on the front porch! McKays is tucked away from the tourists and enjoyed a nice meal in a relaxing setting.

Food wasn’t seasoned well and was just meg, especially for the price. We will not go back.

The seafood risotto had cool/cold scallops. Had to fish out the cold one and server brought warm ones to replace them. A risotto should not have cold ingredients.

As always one of our favorites. Menu choices galore. Efficient caring service. Quality preparation and flavor. Mussels, salad, meatloaf, painkillers and great carrot cake. Slightly disappointed there was no monkfish, neither in the chowder nor cioppino so I chose otherwise. Definitely a must try. We’ve enjoyed McKay’s for better than 2 years. So glad the 1896 structure was moved rather than torn down! Imagine the lost history.

Unfortunately, nothing tasted good. Mussels overcooked and drier than optimal; crab cakes kinda blah, French fries cold; lobster bisque thin and cold. $8 bread service - ridiculous….Overall disappointing but our server was nice and did bring fresh fries and didn’t charge us for the bisque.

We had amazing meals at McKay’s. One of my favorite restaurants in Bar Harbor. A little overpriced but I guess it’s worth it.

We ordered the crab cakes to start, they were gummy and tasteless, pretty awful. The main course was much better and tasty although my meal was cold, i sent back to reheat. It was a tiny bit better, not that hot. The cocktails were good.

Food was tasty but portions are TINY and we are not a family who eats large portions. Everyone left hungry. For the prices we expected more. Service was not very good, our server seemed in the weeds and very overwhelmed. Ambiance is nice. Personally would not return.

Outstanding. The food and staff were so excellent we returned to eat again a second evening. Very attentive to my gluten free needs, dedicated gluten free fryer, the fries were delicious and it was my sons birthday, they added a candle to his crème brûlée. Extremely well done on all points. Wine and beer listings are extensive and the craft cocktails are very well created by an amazing bar tender. We arrived early and waited at the bar, she was a super friendly and an absolute dynamo behind the bar. Highly recommend!
