Celebrating the Joy of Wine at Max Fish with a Wine Pairing Dinner Featuring Rombauer Vineyards Founded in 1980 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer, Rombauer Vineyards has been producing acclaimed wines from Napa Valley, Sonoma County, the Sierra Foothills, and the Santa Lucia Highlands ever since. The winery is a perennial fan favorite and is known for its high-quality, fruit-driven expressions, exceptional vineyard sites, family-style hospitality, and commitment to sharing the Joy of Wine with the world. We are very excited to present current releases from Rombauer Vineyards paired alongside a menu created by Chef de Cuisine Gabe Vancil, featuring recipes inspired by The Joy of Cooking, whose author is a member of the Rombauer family.

Excellent Valentine’s Day prix fixe dinner. The choices were excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner.

My partner and I dined here for Valentines Day, and we were very happy with the experience. The staff was so polite and considerate and I could tell they were very busy. They still made time for us to feel special. We sat at the bar as we waited for our table, and the bar staff even brought us our check without having to ask for it. The waitress was Fantastic and made amazing recommendations. And the food was top notch’s. Such a lovely evening and thank you for creating such a memorable experience.

A great Valentines dinner. We used the pre-fix menu that had lots of options. We added 6 oysters and a very nice glass of white wine for each of us. Service was excellent. A great evening. We will be back!

Absolutely wonderful experience as usual. Our favorite fish house (and restaurant for that matter) in the Hartford area. We had lunch for six and everyone raved about their entrees - lobster rolls (hot and cold), special halibut, paella, poke bowl, and chicken parm (even nailed that, which we were skeptical about at a fish house!). Our server could not have been friendlier (Georgia?). Will definitely return. Also got the Max house Chardonnay which was reasonably priced and was good value for the money.

Donna, my grammar and high school buddy and I rendezvous at Max Fish several times a year. She travels from Branford and I from Avon. Our meal lasts for hours, but we have lots to talk about. Today our server Flora was more than patient with the fact that it took us 4-ever to figure out which of the stupendous luncheon options we wanted. Eventually Dee settled on the Cobb Salad with Scallops and I on the Winter Salad with Scallops. We shared a side order of Truffle Fries that mostly I scarfed down. Yup, yummy! We visited until the Happy Hour crew trudged in. The bar at Max Fish is shaped like a horseshoe and lends itself to lively conversation and interactions. Dee and I have to "do" Happy Hour here soon. We would cause a little rumble. It would be fun. Just a tiny rumble. :-)
