Opened in 1991, Max a Mia was named “Best New Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine in its first year, and “top-grossing restaurant in its size” by Restaurant Hospitality. The restaurant is now in the good hands of Executive Chef Bob Peterson, who has brought an exciting new energy to the restaurant.

Max A Mia is the quintessential Italian experience in the Greater Hartford area. It also continues to garner awards and accolades. Featuring a traditional Italian menu, it utilizes an authentic brick oven that produces stone pies with unmatched flavor. Traditional veal, pork and pasta dishes, as well as inventive risotto offerings, set the mood for desserts including tiramisu and white chocolate polenta cake.

Amazing meal and fantastic service. We stuck with our favorites - and they remain favorites. The coconut cake is a delightful treat; the chicken parm is delicious. Lots of leftovers to look forward to eating as the work week begins….

This is our 4th Valentine’s dinner we e had there and we are never disappointed. We love the food and ambiance and the service is always excellent! Highly recommend!
