Simply put... the best ristorante Italiano in Salt Lake! No, the best restaurant in Salt Lake. The food is incredible, but beyond that, the service is unpretentious, welcoming, and most gracious. Matteo and his staff make you feel like you are dining in Italia.

Another outstanding experience at Matteo. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday and our waiter made it the most memorable and beautiful evening. His suggestions were perfect and added so much to our meal. He even sang happy birthday to our friend in Italian and has the most incredible voice. The entire experience was amazing!

We had the Beretta, focaccia, lasagna and bourbon and honey (I think) braised beef. Every bite was delicious! The lasagna was my favorite part! It was out of this world!

Expensive for what you get! Waiter up selling everything Pretty average food $18 for bread - they don’t tell you they are charging for bread!

Our server Bruno was absolutely a pleasure. Gave us the history of the restaurant, his recommendations, his attentiveness, he was outstanding! The food was so fresh & light & tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!

The staff and service was above and beyond sadly the braised beef was very very dry. Whipped Brie is a must!

We loved the original location but decided to try the new one for Christmas Eve. The food was good, but the whole experience now feels very franchised and fast-turn tables. No linens. Bad lighting. Bar staff pushing carts with dirty glasses through the dining room. Just not the place or experience it used to be. Even Matteo was there in sweats instead of his usual suit and tie. On Christmas Eve, you’d expect them to have the best foot forward. I hope they’ll make some changes and realize they have a great opportunity to be amazing if they can tix the front of house experience.

We had a great Christmas Eve dinner and we all got different things and everything was excellent. They have a great wine menu of Italian wines and they are very knowledgeable about them so they can explain which ones will be best suited for the meal.

Food was great, had the veal Milanese and it was well done and perfect. Tartar was amazing with a nice spice to it.
