Traditional Japanese hospitality and cuisine at its finest. Dedicated, very friendly and attentive staff. Sublimely delicious food. Perfect, in a nutshell.

Klassisches japanisches Restaurant in sehr ruhigem Ambiente, freundlicher zuvorkommender Service und abwechslungsreiches Menü mit ganz viel Umami! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Price increase since December 2023 for 5 course menu at 50%. Choice of food on the menu significantly reduced. Food not at the same level of quality as has been for all the last so many years, mostly still excellent, but some negative surprises (especially chicken and tempura). Quality of the basic ingredients (esp. the fish for the sushi) still outstanding. New concept which was introduced in Mai 2024 (4, 5 or 6 course menu only) and two shifts per evening at max. 2,5 hours does not work. We only got a table late in the evening and then the waiters were annoyed that we were the last guests and wanted us to settle the bill before the last course (as they said they have to close the book for the day) - very rude. Quality and service no longer warrant the very high prices.

Fantastische Qualität der Gerichte, liebevoller Service, stilvolles Ambiente. Wir hatten einen tollen Sukiyaki-Menü-Abend. Sehr gerne wieder!

Sehr leckeres und vor allem authentisches Essen, dazu super Service und ein passendes Ambiente. Klar zu empfehlen, wenn man die japanische Küche genießen möchte und sich nicht vom gehobenen Preisniveau abschrecken lässt - es ist das Geld wert!

Es war ein fantastischer Abend. Ich habe mich so wohl und willkommen gefühlt wie noch in keinem anderen Restaurant. Der Service war exzellent - aufmerksam, zuvorkommend, freundlich und präzise. Es ist eine Freude, von Profis bedient zu werden. Die Qualität, der Geschmack, die Zusammenstellung und die Präsentation des Essens waren exquisit. Das Matsumi serviert Sushi von herausragender Qualität. Wer eine Vorstellung davon bekommen möchte, was gutes Suhi ist, der ist im Matsumi an der richtigen Adresse.
