WOW - The best food I have ever had around these parts since I moved here 15 years ago. Whoever has been conjuring up the dishes on the menu is a culinary genius. Food is like I have never before experienced - so tasty. You MUST try it out!!!!

server was gracious but overall ambiance and service was subpar. Especially expected more as a guest of the inn and from a hotel restaurant in general, as service is usually exceptional in such a setting. Food was pricey, nyc pricey and sometimes the pedigree. certain dishes worthwhile and inventive but others not so much. A mixed bag.

Spectacular! Duck and trout were very good and the potato and turnip salad was perfect.

A great addition to the area. Our food was delicious. I had the smoked trout. My husband had the duck. Can’t wait to go back.

We were excited and were looking forward to try Matilda, and really enjoyed the ambiance and service, and were intrigued by the menu. Overall, the food was good, the tuna belly confit on sumac crackers as a starter was a favorite, and the lettuces salad bright and fresh. Canneloni with chard and morel mushrooms with sous vide egg yolk on top was earthy, minerally, light, highlighting the ingredients but not particularly delicious. The main of chicken was nicely wood roasted, brined and seasoned well but not terribly intriguing — and at $45 was overpriced as it was not accompanied by sides or garnishes and seemed to perhaps be a pounded single breast and wing bone. A side of roasted onion “cups” with thin slivers of toasted bread and a few chunks of what seemed to be rhubarb paired with the chicken nicely, but was an additional $15 and really should have been included with the chicken main dish (the onion side might have consisted of a half small onion). Desserts were interesting — foamed potato with strawberry jam and granita, and the Matilda sundae which had a green flavorless sabayon (?) that was more like marshmallow fluff on top — and also strange and not terribly craveable. All in all, a fun road trip to get to Matilda, sexy ambiance and kind and attentive service, but the menu could use a downward price adjustment or inclusion of varied accoutrement to balance out a pricey main course. Perhaps a couple more months of working out the kinks and getting more feedback will finesse the price to culinary curation and execution ratio for the better. All good and tasty enough, just not yet an experience I’ll need to rush back to.

Amazing flavours and freshness with innovative combinations. English pea warm salad, duck and beets, and the potato mousse with strawberry granita were highlights. Ambience is warm and welcoming, with a modern mid century feel and terrace with a pretty garden out back for summer nights. Shout out to Travis for attentive, but not intrusive, service.

This is my third time back (in under a month!!) so that says it all- exquisite preparation and presentation, Greg our waiter is/was fantastic and attentive to every detail, the design is beautiful and the food even better- game changer! It puts Hensonville on the map.

The staff and service were excellent. The food was OK. The food was a bit too fatty and salty and expensive. This will be a great place to go for special occasions but not for regular meals.
