   Great restaurant inside the River Inn. Staff is super-friendly, and the food and drinks are great. Perfect for before a show at the Kennedy Center.

   Quiet, no hassle, great drinks, really good food and attentive, friendly and efficient service combine for a really welcoming experience at this neighborhood spot near the Kennedy Center. We will definitely be returning!

   We had a wonderful dinner prior to a show at the Kennedy Center. The service was fast and very friendly. It’s a small restaurant that seems to really care about their guests. Our server even gave my daughter a rose for International Women’s Day.

   Very quaint. Loved the hummus. Server/bartender was very perceptive and met all our needs throughout dinner. I would definitely recommend.

   Our visit to Matera was very pleasant from the greeting by the friendly Hostess to the great Waiter who was perfectly attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and probably a little more quiet for our after 8 pm reservation. I would say that the food was very well presented. For starters, the Salad was elegant and generous, the Filet Mignon was cooked correctly but was the only disappointment as it was a lower grade than I would expect. The Tiramisu was exceptional and maybe one the best I've had. I recommend Matera and will come back to try the regular menu.

   We had another great meal at Matera. I had the Herb Chicken and it was delicious. My husband had the Meza Rigatoni and he enjoyed it. My son had the Top Sirloin Steak. It was cooked perfectly. As always the service was great.

    Had a party of 9- everyone ordered something different and we all loved our breakfast! The service was great, we loved our waitress! We will be back!
