A titan of a space, Rockville was modeled after a hunting lodge yet still manages to feel cozy. A comfortable fireplace fills the space, as well as two wood-fired ovens that churn out thin-crust pizzas in minutes. We had the arancini, a pizza, and the ribs. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Easy to park. Restroom very clean. Terrific experience all around.

We had never tried Matchbox before, but knowing that it was a chain, we had low expectations (being foodies). We were looking for a brunch place to accommodate 8 people the morning after a wedding. Boy, did they deliver!! First off, our server, Antonio, was absolutely the BEST server you could ever have. No kidding. He was cheerfully friendly, like a ray of sunshine... accommodating, appropriate, congratulatory to the bride & groom, and made our experience at Matchbox delightful. The eight of us all ordered different items, from a Bloody Mary served with a whole piece of maple bacon, to the chicken & waffles with bourbon maple syrup to caramel apple pancakes, to fig & prosciutto pizza to a "hangover burrito." Every person said their dish was delicious! What a pleasant surprise, and we will definitely return the next time we're in town!

Amazing service, Christopher was our server and did a great job. Very polite, friendly, and comfortable environment. AMAZING FOOD. Definitely try the Mojitos.

Always great food. Lots of options. Huge restaurant with variety of tables. Service is usually great, but this time it was terrible. Took 15 min after seated for server to visit table. Then rarely checked back. Food took a while but I think it was server not placing order with kitchen.

Really nice meal. They comped us the pizza bread since it was our baby’s first time eating at a Matchbox. Really nice gesture. Service was great. Food was great (got a pizza), and they accommodated my request to sit us out of the way of people since we had a stroller. Really nice experience start to finish.

We made a last minute decision to eat lunch at Matchbox and were able to get a quick reservation. My daughter and I shared the pear pecan salad and a small margarita pizza. The salad was fresh and crisp. The dressing which we ordered on the side and use be putting on fork tines when we took a bite was light and flavorful. The pizza crust was crisp and the sauce was tasty. The basil was fresh. Our server was attentive and friendly. Will be back on occasion when we are down in Rockville.
