Overlooking Strawberry Park in the vibrant Mosaic District, our 40-seat patio offers outdoor dining and front row seats to Angelika Film Center’s outdoor screen and prime people-watching.

Inside, exposed pipes and warm brick line the walls surrounding 220 seats, all with views of the glowing wood wall, reclaimed from barn-wood from Rochester, New York. The private Barrel Room accommodates 50 guests and comes with plush booths, a wood-burning fireplace and private wine coolers to store your favorite vintages.

The food was so salty. I got the fish and chips. The fish was so greasy. The fries were so salty. Other people with me ordered the chicken alfredo pasta. They also complained that the dish was very salty. Couldn’t finish the meal.

We had soggy fries which weren’t edible. The manager was supposed to come and speak with us and do something about the bill. He/she didn’t. Too bad. Matchbox could lose a customer who brings a family of 5 to this location.

It’s basically a bar with tables and good, but not outstanding, food. My friend’s chicken was too salty, and i imagine they would have taken it back if she asked. Very nice staff

I made a reservation several days before to eat on Saturday with my family. Our reservation was for 6 pm for 3 and we arrived at 9 minutes before 6. There was a couple and a single guest in front of us waiting to be seated. While we waited a couple walked in and past everyone waiting in line and went right to the front without saying a word. I spoke up and said there were others in line in front of them. Within a minute we were speaking to the hostess. She asked us to wait until our reservation time and they would seat us. We stepped to the side and waited and watched 3 or 4 other groups being seated. They were not swamped and I am pretty sure two of those groups did not have reservations. When 6 pm arrived we were led to a table. We had asked for barrel room seating and so we went through the entire restaurant. What was interesting was that the restaurant had about 40% of the tables empty. The barrel room has 8 booths and 3 tables. Only 2 booths and none of the tables were occupied. So less than 20% occupied where we asked for seating. I probably shouldn’t make any assumptions but I will. I spoke up and my family was punished for expecting adults to wait their turn in line. I love their pizza but I really just made my last visit. I have made a couple of complaints about the wait staff which I never do anywhere. But the folks they have working at their Merrifield location don’t seem to be interested in treating guests like guests.

Very lovely outdoor seating good food and great service. Our food was lateish because of a mishap; we didn’t ask but the manager came over to apologize and comped one of our meals. Hubby loved his Cobb salad said it was the best he’s had. I have salmon salad perfectly cooked.

The service and ambience was very nice. I order off the brunch menu and the food was okay. There was not enough syrup for the pancakes and the potatoes and sausage were not of my liking. They also could not serve egg whites. I don’t think I would order off the breakfast menu again in the future.

It took a long time to get our drinks and the waitress thought we already had gotten them and had to go back to the bar to check on the order. We ordered salad dressing on the side and the waitress said ALL salads come with the dressing on the side normally, then all of our salads came WITH the dressing already on. One of our food orders was incorrect but the person who delivered the order just kept insisting the order was for "pineapple" when it was not. The noise level near the kitchen even in the booth was very high and when we asked if we could move to the quieter area, which we saw had empty booths, we were told there was a private party there but it did not appear to be. The food was ok but was not good enough to make up for the service and noise level issues, so we don't think it's worth returning.

Our server was terrible. He barely checked on us during our time there. We sat with empty glasses, our food took way too long to come out, and two other tables with parties larger than ours were sat after us, and received their meals before us.
