Overlooking Strawberry Park in the vibrant Mosaic District, our 40-seat patio offers outdoor dining and front row seats to Angelika Film Center’s outdoor screen and prime people-watching.

Inside, exposed pipes and warm brick line the walls surrounding 220 seats, all with views of the glowing wood wall, reclaimed from barn-wood from Rochester, New York. The private Barrel Room accommodates 50 guests and comes with plush booths, a wood-burning fireplace and private wine coolers to store your favorite vintages.

Tuesdays are now the best day ever at matchbox! Kids 10 and under get a free 10" cheese pizza with the purchase of any adult entree when you dine in for lunch or dinner on Tuesdays. What a great way to enjoy a meal with your family! Limitations: Dine in only. One free kids' pizza per adult entree, 14" pizzas, burgers, or protein salads. There is a charge for additional pizza toppings.

Our family joined the wonderful team at Matchbox Merrifield for dinner on a Saturday evening. They generously accommodated a party of seven on short notice. Once we arrived Jay-Lianna jumped right in as our server superstar. She accommodated everyone’s various orders with ease and was such a joy to interact with for the evening. We really appreciated the hospitality from the entire team. Thank you, Matchbox Merrifield and Jay-Lianna!

We ordered two small pizzas and both were excellent... (Fig + Prosciutto and Chicken Pesto). The Strawberry Shortcake dessert that we ordered to share was good, but unfortunately, all of the vanilla ice cream on it had melted before it arrived at our table. Not sure if that was a result of slow service by the wait staff or if it was prepped inappropriately by the kitchen. Still tasty, just not what is typical that dessert.

The chicken sandwich was barely edible. Chicken tasted bland and was tough to bite into. Definitely not worth the price. Fries were good at least.

Choices had a reasonable amount of variety, the seating locations were were very nice, service was also very good. Price was slightly above average in my opinion, but the food was still good.

Food was ok at best. The menu didn’t have a ton of options outside of salad, pizza and sandwiches. Stay away from the crab avo tower appetizer- incredibly disappointing! Chicken sandwich and pasta dishes were fine. So many other better restaurants nearby that we will go to next time where we know quality is guaranteed.

We have always liked this Matchbox location. Glad we decided to go the movies nearby. Our service was good. Not so busy so the noise level was good. We will make a point to go back to this location. We have one in Reston have been many times to realize it was never a good experience Edie

The food was so salty. I got the fish and chips. The fish was so greasy. The fries were so salty. Other people with me ordered the chicken alfredo pasta. They also complained that the dish was very salty. Couldn’t finish the meal.
