Excellent wait staff. Hostess was pleasant. Waiter had a great since of humor. He checked back to make sure that we had everything that we needed and that we liked the drinks that we ordered.

Good spot for brunch. Cinnamon rolls for an appetizer weren’t all that great. But the rest of the food was a hit all around! Big portions and great service for our group of five.

We got there kind of late around 8:45 PM. Pizza was very good. Service was good. Just not sure the waiter if he overcharged us a little bit for the wine. I think we ordered the smaller portion but overall it was very nice. I did place to talk with friends, I was very happy. It wasn’t too noisy at that time.

We keep hoping things will get better but somehow Matchbox McLean continues to under-perform. Went to order a sauv blanc on the menu and they are out of the less expensive one. Ordered 10” gluten free pizza and none available only large. Ordered a small 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 cheese pizza and it came with pepperoni on 1/2 and meatballs on the other. Side Caesar salad came as a large. Table wasn’t bussed when plates piled up etc. Food was actually pretty good Bring back the old Italian salad! Also fairly bright which takes away from the evening /dinner atmosphere.

Food was fine. Just fine. Was hoping for a bit more than “fine”. Salmon was dry and accompaniments looked promising on the menu but were cold and tasteless. Spouse had decent ribs, coleslaw was meh. Nothing was bad, just hoped for better. Nice cocktail list, service was friendly and atmosphere pleasantly convivial.

We love the burgers at Matchbox. However you order it, that’s how it comes. Medium rare is my preference and it’s nice and pink in the center. And the burger itself is very juicy. We always request the fries well done and that’s how they come. Crunch, but still tasting like a potatoes

Place was only about 20% full, but we felt like we were being rushed out the door by repetitive interruptions by wait staff to get us to order, trying to clear plates when barely through eating, etc etc…too bad. Place looks much better than the food tastes.
