Located in Boston’s vibrant SoWa neighborhood in the South End, Marseille is a classic French brasserie inspired by the diverse flavors of its namesake, the legendary Mediterranean port city at the cultural crossroads of France, Spain, Italy, Greece and North Africa.

Led by renowned chef Robert Fathman, the kitchen serves up modern takes on classic French fare like steak frites, bouillabaisse, Salade Lyonnaise and onion soup, with inventive additions including shakshouka, Moroccan couscous and chickpea fries. The beverage program consists of classic cocktails with a twist, draft and bottled beers and a broad range of French, Italian and New World wines.

Our sophisticated, light-filled interior invites you to gather with friends in the dining room or grab a seat at the lively bar. In the warmer months our private outdoor patio is the perfect spot for an al fresco meal.

We offer free validated parking in the adjacent lot for up to four hours.

The buffet was disappointing, some choice but nothing special, not pretty and no pain au chocolat, the croissants were pretty but not the best . No jam so I asked some but the staff didn't know what flavor it was!! Our waitress didn't make much efforts or didn't mention anything about the buffet, the menu or anything else. Coffee and OJ were extra. Expensive, we were expecting something better. We loved the French decoration, the pation and the Citroën car outside!! We are from out of state and drove 1 hour 20mn just to try Marseille.

We had a great brunch, food was great, service was amazing and the price was a steal for a Sunday brunch.

A bit disappointed as service was slow. Had reserved a table for 10 but gave us a table for only 8. But everything else was nice.

Terrible experience. Water was not brought to the table for over 10 minutes, cocktails took 20 minutes to arrive with no olives for my martini. The caesar salad was flavorless and the chicken that came with it was raw (had to send it back). The steak frites was cold, chewy, with hardly any sauce. They ended up comping the entire meal, which helped, but it was overall extremely disappointing.

This is such a gem, the menu is amazing and will make me want to come back many more times to try all the enticing options. Our food was delicious and service was professional and not suffocating.

The service was friendly and quick. The food was OK but not great. The cheese board - not worth the price; dabs of cheese, 5 grapes and no bread unless you asked for it. Steak frites - not great; the steak was dry and chewy. Caesar salad - not great; a small head of romaine with a bit of dressing drizzled over it. The soup of the day (butternut) - fabulous. The bouillabaisse - fabulous. So all in all, a mixed experience.

I had brunch at Marseille on Sunday to celebrate a friends birthday. The service was good but the food was not as good as I expected it would be. I would not recommend the buffet based on my experience at the restaurant.

This is the best restaurant i know in Boston. The place is nice and the service was perfect. But, above all, the food was so brilliant. I had scallops with a mushroom ravioli. OMG, the mushroom ravioli was extraordinary! For dessert i had a poached pear on an anise creme brûlée, a perfection. The chef is definitely extremely creative, but using good products to produce these meals made all the difference. The price was very reasonable. We had 3 glasses of an excellent Cotes du Rhone. Please don’t miss the opportunity to visite this place. Being French myself, i highly recommend it!
