Great pub, good food. Lovely staff but service could be improved. We booked a table of 10 for a roast weeks in advance, on arriving there wasn’t a table ready for us and they said they’d have to add chairs rather than having the restaurant area set up. Drinks service was really slow, maybe short staffed for this day but not ideal. The food was lovely, but we were served the first roast on its own, the second roast about 10 minutes later. The last food order arrived around 30 minutes after. We were told there were only 2 chefs on, but a little frustrating when we came out for an organised meal together. Overall great pub and nice food, would visit again. Could do with being a bit better organised or not serving as large tables. If we were walk ins I could understand the wait.

The food was excellent as always. The chicken schnitzel is delicious! Stayed for the quiz which was great fun.

Fantastic lunch deal at the Marquess - main course and a glass of wine for £12!!! My rump steak served on toasted baguette and caramelised onion was divine. I paid £3 extra for some of their delicious fries. Staff were wonderful and attentive. Highly recommend the Buffalo Trace bourbon!

I think this pub must have come under new management over the last year or so as the food is great and the Sunday Roast is big improvement over what we had last time. Plus the team are super friendly and nice. A top pub.

Never had soggy roast potatoes before and I’m not keen to repeat the experience. Would happily come back for a drink but will absolutely give the food a hard miss.
