3 couples meet regularly for dinner and this time we visited the Marmalade Cafe in Sherman Oaks. We were met and greeted by the hostess and were seated promptly and made to feel at home right away. The table was a bit small but proved to be adequate for our party. Service was prompt and friendly and the food arrived hot and tasty. The menu is quite extensive and will offer something for almost any taste. We started with the Wild Mushroom soup which was hot and filling. My wife ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad and I had the Big Marm hamburger. The sides were tasty and went well with the dishes ordered. All the people at our table enjoyed the meal and all said they would return for future visits. As an added benefit, they offer an email club which gave a $10 discount on a $40+eal for the first visit. I can't wait to see what future offers the Marmalade Cafe offers. In summary, this is a very nice, local restaurant worth a return visit.

Great every time. I had the grilled turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich. The turkey was a bit dry, but the fries made up for up it. Mom had the split pea soup. She loved it.

This was a last minute booking on New Years Eve. No expensive set menu and we enjoyed exactly what we wanted to eat. Waitresses attentive, friendly but not intrusive.

Everything and everybody was very nice. The food was good and we were very content. The only issue we encountered was that the hostess did not mark us as "arrived" for my Open Table reservation, so I received an email stating the rules about no-showing. I had to call the restaurant to have them change that on Open Table so if does not affect my Open Table status.

$4.50 seems like a lot to charge for orange juice. Potatoes were a bit undercooked. Loved the La Brea bread.

I've been enjoying Marmalade in Sherman Oaks for years but hadn't been there recently. Still pretty much the same - charming. Sorry to see the pastry display replaced by a bar, but I guess that's a more lucrative use of the space. Also disappointed in the limited dessert choices, but otherwise the brunch menu was outstanding. Server was somewhat inattentive and had to be reminded several times to bring what we requested. One of the dishes was undercooked despite instructions, but someone who I think was the chef attended to fixing it personally and waited while we tried it. Second time was perfect. Overall, it'a always enjoyable and delicious.

The food was slower than usual, based upon prior experience. The food came out at different times, but the server tried to do what she could to accommodate us. It was tough to hear, unless you were sitting in the middle of our rectangular table.

Service started off well but after our order was taken we didn’t see our waiter again. He never came to check on us to see how our meal was. We had to ask our busboy for condiments, we didn’t get beverage refills and had to track the waiter down to get the check. It was early and not busy. There were a number of other wait staff on hand so being short handed is not the reason. We have dined here before and will again but will ask for another waiter if he is on shift. On the positive side my lamb burger was delicious!
