Le Marlowe est un bistro de quartier occupant un espace rustique, chic et accueillant. Les saveurs vives et audacieuses d'un chef triplement étoilé et un peu d'histoire familiale créent un nouveau concept de restaurant niché dans le quartier chic de SoMa, à San Francisco. Le Marlowe a été créée par le restaurateur Anna Weinberg, accompagnées de quelques partenaires et amis. Proposant un menu de plats de bistro classiques très appréciés avec une touche unique et savoureuse, le chef exécutif du Marlowe, Jennifer Puccio, qui s'est vue décerner trois étoiles par le San Francisco Chronicle pour sa cuisine à Cortez, a créé un mélange d'en-cas, d'apéritifs, de plats et d'accompagnement composé du genre de la nourriture qu'elle aime manger quand elle ne travaille pas.

My favorite thing about Marlowe is that they continue to offer the brilliant dessert of their predecessors, the Vacherin. This is the best dessert ever. It has the perfect balance of textures (from crunchiness of the toasted almonds and the meringue contrasted with the softness of the ice cream) to the sweet and bitter (of the chocolate sauce and the coffee ice cream) to the hot and the cold temperatures (the hot chocolate sauce and the ice cream), it is a complete delight. Their other food is also good. I do think the poulet vert should come with accompanying bread (or at minimum a spoon). There is so much soupy goodness that accompanies the chicken, that it makes sense to pair it with something that can soak it all up. Their salad is a bit small for the $20 cost -- it is more like a side salad you'd get as part of an entree, but it is delicious. The service is attentive and professional, and the space is tasteful and cozy without being too closed in (the enormous windows to the street provide an openness and a little "street theater" while eating.

We’re very lucky to have Marlowe in our neighborhood. Always great service and delicious food. Their burger is a must try and today we also had pork cheeks with chorizo… it was out of this world!

I want to give the benefit of the doubt - it was a very warm evening, there’s no AC in the restaurant. But the restaurant was not busy, no one checked us in upon arrival, our drinks took 20+ min, the food took even longer and was cold (the burger was so dry), and the server rarely checked in/seemed super exasperated to answer questions about the menu. Seemed like they wanted our group out asap, we wanted to leave asap as well but our food, drinks, and check took forever so it was a lose-lose situation.

Great place for breakfast but don’t expect your typical breakfast menu. The French toast dip is our favorite! I think they should have it on their desert menus for dinner. The Butcher Bloody Mary is awesome if you like your Bloody Mary’s very spicy. Service is great. They somehow know when to be there but they don’t hover over you.

Hard to find a place in Soma these days that has good food and drinks in the early afternoon. Marlowe meets all of these requirements.

Popped in for bar bites before a concert. Food was good, but felt like we were being rushed out the door, even though we had a reservation. We ended up not ordering more food because of it.

Food is always amazing. We had the back room which I didn’t even know existed which was nice given the noise level of the restaurant is really loud.

We stopped in before the Giants game. Our server was fantastic, delicious food and drink. Will be back.
