Market Place Kitchen and Bar is a traditional American restaurant, operating with a theme of preparing all cuisines with organic and sustainable ingredients. The restaurant has a decent wooden décor, constructed with 300-years old barn wood from Brook Field's farm. Market Place Kitchen and Bar has a full-service banquet with modern business facilities for corporate events and meetings. Alex Lowe, the executive chef, has prepared a healthy menu for guests in Market Place Kitchen and Bar. Surf and turf is the specialty meal here. It is prepared with pork belly meat braised in duck fat for four hours. It is served with apple marmalade, caramelized scallops and house made kale chips. The ‘famous rigatoni Bolognese GF' pasta is prepared with sweet Italian sausage, milk-fed veal, pomodoro tomato cream, fresh ricotta, grana padano parmigiano cheese and fine herbs. The bar serves a variety of European wines and tap beers.

Salmon was significantly overcooked to the point of being hard to eat. Our waiter ignored us and I had to track him down to obtain the check twenty minutes after we had asked for it. I found him hanging out with the bartender.

Great food, service and nice outdoor seating. Menu is large, varied, with lots of great options, including for vegetarians/vegans. Really great place in Danbury.

Vegan options very limited, not particularly good, and have remained the same for years. Food was moderate and over priced for the quality. Husband (not vegan) was not impressed with his choice either. Location and atmosphere good and server very pleasant, but I won’t be returning

Had the lamb special for Easter lunch, ordered it medium,inedible, all grizzle. I’m guessing when you ask your chef to make something other than what’s on the menu, they fail. Wife had the ham special that day, very low quality ham but at least it was edible

Haven’t been to this marketplace in a while and while the appetizer was good, my wife and I both got the spicy chicken bowl and neither of us enjoyed it. First, all dark meat was extremely disappointing. Second, the amount of rice and lack of sauce, made 3/4 of the meal the equivalent of just eating plain white rice. Not exactly what you’d expect for $25.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very pretty. The food was meh...kinda like an upscale Applebee's but more expensive. Cappuccino was $7! And it was cold even after we sent it back once. Probably wouldn't bother again.
