Sungchul Shim, chef and owner of the Michelin star restaurant Kochi opens his second Michelin star restaurant Mari in Hell's Kitchen. At Mari (roll in Korean), Sung offers a tasting menu of street-food inspired Korean hand rolls, complemented by an extensive wine list and a selection of Korean spirits like soju and chungju.

Mari is offering a $145 per person seasonal tasting menu (along with a beverage pairing for $110) that explores the many facets of Korean cuisine through small plates and inventive hand rolls.

Due to the nature of our tasting menu, we are unable to accommodate vegetarian/vegan diets, gluten-free diets (if soy is not okay to consume), rice-free diets, allergies to fish, allium, sesame seeds/oil, and aversion to raw seafood. If you have any questions regarding food restrictions, please contact us before making a reservation.

Ce restaurant de l'équipe de Kochi, étoilé au Michelin, est l'un des omakases les plus exaltants de la ville. Les bouchées de truite grillée, de crabe royal et de magret de canard sont si bonnes que ce restaurant de Midtown a lui aussi sa propre étoile Michelin.

Delicious, every course and bite was excellent A five star meal Beautiful presentation, outstanding quality of ingredients and originality Highly recommend as every aspect of the experience was stellar For the price it is a very good value based upon quality and quantity a wholly satisfying dinner out in all ways

Excellent food. Unfortunately the restaurant was understaffed. Our server was polite but had a script so memorized that it was impossible to understand her all the time. She (or another) would serve, say a very tight script of what we were eating in a very hurried tone and the. Depart as quickly as possible. We heard her use the exact same script at two neighboring tables. We loved the food but have a more “client friendly” chat or description would be nice and change our overall opinion

A really nice experience. The food was great and the service was outstanding. Unfortunately one guest was so load that this destroyed a bit the atmosphere. Of course not a fault from the restaurant but I would have told my guest to calm down a bit and respect the other guests.

Truly fantastic experience. The food was incredible. The service was wonderful. Beautiful space. We had a wonderful time.

Outstanding food that is high quality and a good value for a tasting menu that is about half the cost of an Omakase in NYC's Japanese restaurants. The rolls are very creative and have wonderful flavor combinations. It's a treat to sit at the counter and watch this meal being orchestrated. Only a few observations - only one warning (not three) that a party of two has a strict two-hour time limit is necessary. Service felt somewhat intrusive. The loud hip-hop music that was playing added extra tension. We've also dined at Kochi, and even though it's similar, it felt a bit more relaxed than Mari.

The food was overly salted and for the $600 we paid for three people we expected more luxurious ingredients. Also for a Michelin restaurant service level it is strange to be told as the first thing that we need to leave by a certain time (we are fast eaters and did not intend to loiter!). Consider other options!

Outstanding dining experience of Korean 9 course meal.Great selection of Korean beverages . Wonderful service from Elizabeth K and others. Two hour dining limit fit perfectly This was an exceptional meal!

Mari was excellent! We went here before a broadway show and celebrated a birthday. We’re blown away by the level of service and the quality of the food. We could watch them assemble in front of us and talk to the team.
