Welcome to Marelle, where the culinary mastery of Chef Raphael Lunetta meets the serene beauty of Santa Monica's coastline. Marelle is nestled on Ocean Avenue, just steps away from the sandy shores, offering an elevated dining experience that celebrates the vibrant flavors of California.

Marelle, meaning "Star of the Sea," offers a menu that celebrates the bounty of land and sea, featuring signature dishes like Hamachi Crudo, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Pan Roasted King Salmon, and 12 oz New York Steak. Our bar program, curated by Amanda Fewster, includes unique cocktails such as “La Vie En Rose” and “Star of the Sea” (our famous seashell cocktail). Designed by Gulla Jónsdóttir, Marelle's space reflects natural beauty and elegance, creating a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor dining.

At Marelle, guests can enjoy an exclusive limited-edition Veuve Clicquot Bubbles & Buns Menu, available for lunch, dinner, and brunch. Curated by Chef Raphael Lunetta, these dishes are designed to pair beautifully with Veuve Clicquot, enhancing the dining experience with intentional flavor profiles. The menu includes: Sunshine Royale Burger & Sunset Sliders.

The atmosphere is comfortable, beautiful to look at and well-designed . Food was excellent as we chose the salmon dinner and got a side of the smashed polenta, that was delicious.!Service was a bit slow but on a Wednesday night, it wasn’t too bad. Quiet around us too!

It was our first time at Marelle and we were blown away by the awesomeness! We were celebrating our 15th anniversary and our server Kevin suggested the best dishes along with a nice dessert to celebrate our big night! We can’t wait to go back to Marelle!

We had an amazing meal! Loved our waitress Alina who was super friendly! Crab cakes, Caesar Salad, NY Steak and poach asparagus was amazing! We’ll be back very soon!

I think the biggest issue for me would be the details. While the food is good, I found details like the wine list to be amateur. If you’re gonna charge $30 for a glass of red burgundy, the wine should not come out warm, or even at room temperature. The different styles of red wine should also be served in the appropriate wine glass. For me, personally, this is a big factor whether to come back and enjoy another meal.

I love Lunetta so it was a no brainer to come here. We ordered the crab cakes, fries, Cesar salad, and crispy calamari; everything was cooked to perfection. I ordered their special drink (tastes like a French 75) that comes in a sea shell and was not disappointed. Will def be back!

Our experience at Marelle was underwhelming. The service was not up to par (we had to wait for over 10 mins before we saw the hostess to complain) and then was sent the same server who was loitering around our table! And after we placed our orders the food and drinks took a while to arrive. The portion sizes are small compared to the price (one crab cake for $23!). The choice of entrees are also limited. The shrimp cocktail was deconstructed and came with an extremely small portion of 7 chips, pico de gallo, and cilantro. The cocktail menu was good and the overall ambience is nice. There is valet parking for $10.

The restaurant looks great, we had a lovely private table. The food was just a bit average and the service was a bit slow. I don't mind a relaxed pace dinner but the meal took nearly three hours.

The food the influencers are showing and talking about on Instagram is not always available. And when I asked about things I had seen in different videos, nobody knew what I was talking about. I went specifically because of influencer videos and the vibe didn’t match. Now, I still had a great time and enjoyed my meal but it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. I went for brunch and not dinner so maybe that was it. Cute decor and beautiful furniture.

We were excited to visit the restaurant because of a few influencer videos online who raved about it. 3 person party honest review: The vibe was great in the evening, nice friendly staff with great color and decor to the interior design. Food was hit and some big misses and priced high for the portions. Wait staff mentioned they had to get a whole new cooking staff recently. So beware that the food may have been great before but for now it’s a hit or miss. Food: Hamachi Crudo- best part of the meal. Refreshing fruit paired with perfectly cooked fish. I would order 5 more. Chicken wings: lacking. Could have used some better seasoning. A bit dry. Crab cake- nice and flavorful but small portion. *Lemon mushroom Rigatoni - this was the worst part of the meal. Pasta was undercooked and flavorless. White sauce was watery. Mushrooms were ok though haha. Roasted King Salmon - second best part of the meal. Delicious, crispy outside and flavorful. Cocktails- the winner was the Oaxacan nicely balanced, refreshing and flavorful. The other three were way too sweet, didn’t enjoy. All in all, it’s worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood but I might wait a month or two after this review to get the chefs dialed in. That pasta dish should never left the kitchen and we’re charged $32 for it.
