Food was great but our server was horrible. I had to repeatedly ask for water and bread before he finally brought it. Server at other table was amazing, we must have drawn the short straw.

Wow, where do I start the calamari or the great service from the server and manager? everything was amazing the best chicken piccata I had highly highly highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed, Best anniversary dinner I had great service great food will definitely be coming back

Everything I had heard about this place just not true! (Overpriced, average, stuffy) turned out to be one of if not the best dining experience I have had in Birmingham. The meal was great and reasonably priced. The Chicken Picata was almost as good as the Lamb Chops. We tried an assortment of appetizers octopus, meatballs, and shrimp. Mare will be a go to place.

The shrimp was well prepared, as was the calamari appetizers. The pizza was too thick and did not seem fresh. Our server would take away things that had t been finished (including our wine) and was rushing us, even though the entire place was empty. We had to keep asking for refills on our water; they would not come around with water.

We chose an earlier dinner at 6pm on a Saturday. There weren’t a lot of people there. The restaurant interior is nice, but hard to get a feel for the atmosphere without people. The food was good, but nothing that will bring us back. The Calamari was extremely salty - our server checked with the chef and was told it’s a new sauce. My thought was, the chef should try the Calamari, because it is not good with the “new” sauce.

What a delightful experience!! The service was excellent, the food tasty and the outside seating comfortable and thoughtful (even with umbrellas!) We’ll be back!

My friend and I were not pleased with Mare Mediterranean. It look a long time just for us to get bread at our table and even longer for us to get our entrees. We noticed that everyone except for us had already received their food. The food was okay but not worth the price at all. We will not be coming back. Complete disappointment.

Amazing food and great service. They didn’t have pasta with chicken on the menu but I told them I don’t eat seafood they made me pasta with chicken

The food is always excellent and the value is good. What is missing is excitement of any kind, needs ambience for sure. It is not a place where you would eat and want to move to the bar to continue your night.
