Truly outstanding! Might have been our best meal in Boston yet, and we’ve been here sampling everything Boston has to offer for a month! The oysters were terrific! Aphrodite was our favorite. The scallop appetizer and king salmon entree were perfectly prepared…and then there was the soufflé for dessert! If you are here for just a weekend, make this one of your stops!

Absolutely love mare, was lucky to finish our shifts early to come grab a quick bite at one of my favorite places that I haven’t been to for a while. I’d avised for the host and the manager to hold her tongue away from us and not to say some slick comments about me and my guest in Spanish for her not knowing that I had 2 Spanish speaking guest with me. Thanks!

I went to dine with my family coming from out of town last night and EVERYTHING was amazing. staff, atmosphere, food and drinks. The manager was very attentive!! We ordered the cacio e Pepe table side and also tiramisu and WHAT A EXPERIENCE!! Oysters are the best in north end. Thanks mare, definitely I’ll be back

Good service, although headwaiter was detached. Disco music throughout the meal, which was not necessarily our thing. Zucchini flowers had lots of batter and a lobster salad stuffing that lacked flavor. Salad, organic greens, lacked innovation. Black ink pasta with clams was excellent.

Mare is an amazing restaurant, we try to go as often as we can. It NEVER disappoints, our server Gaetano always makes great recommendations for oysters, wine he knows us and knows what we like. All restaurant should take lessons from Mare.

The Mussels Brodetto was phenomenal! I also got the Tagliatelle con Aragosta and it was just okay. The lobster was really good, but the rest was meh. The service was kind of frustrating because I was never sure who our actual waiter was. Also, at least 3 people came by while I was eating my mussels trying to clear my plate when I was still eating. I wasn’t taking a long time either. It was a little excessive. My friend got 3 different types of oysters and seemed to enjoy those. She also got the scallops appetizer, which looked and tasted great. I wish I would have chosen that instead of the pasta.

I knew I was going to love Mare as soon as I walked up to the door. The entrance is moody and inviting. The staff and serves were friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal. I definitely recommend the grilled octopus and lobster ravioli. The energy and aesthetic of the restaurant was an amazing vibe. I can’t wait to go back!

usually a good spot but food quality has gone down. food took very long to come out. talked up the espresso martini to my date, usually very good. we agreed tasted like chocolate water with a splash of vodka.

Great food. Diego is an awesome server. Upon arrival we received blank stares from two hostesses who did not greet us. We proceeded to approach them and share that we had reservations. We had a baby with us and it seemed like there was shock that someone would bring a baby to a ‘nice establishment’. Overall, it was still enjoyable. We sat close to the bar and the bar staff were super kind and waved at our baby for most of the meal and chatted with us about him.
