What a disappointment. Condescending service, lousy food, broken toilet and when I told the hostess, she told me to “push the button inside the tank”. ARE YOU KIDDING. Zucchini blossoms use to be amazing. They were so greasy and had no taste. The mushroom pasta was ok but the clam pasta was cold and unappetizing. The waitstaff stood around talking, ignored us and then when we asked for some ice with our water, they were very dismissive. What a let down. With so many other restaurants in the North End, we will not be going back to Mare. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

On Hanover Street yet tucked away from the crowds Mare provides what feels like your own private deck view of Boston. The food matches the view with a variety of local seafood options. We enjoyed oyster, king salmon and attentive service. I would absolutely reserve another table and recommend it to anyone.

We had high expectations and just all across the board they were missed. Small things like having to ask for sharing plates, to getting oysters for two with only one fork, to the food being a bit cold (the gnocchi). I’d argue a tad overpriced. Also, we expected a table inside but were told our reservation is for the patio (it got chilly).

Mare was absolutely amazing. Service was quick and our waiter Fabio M, was extremely attentive and a joy to talk to. I got oysters, I chose Maine oysters, but there were plenty of places to chose from where your oysters were harvested. I followed that up with a Mediterranean salad. 10 out of 10. My husband got the pan seared scallops as an appetizer, and the wagyu burger for a main. Both had a great review from him. The cocktails were also extremely good!

Seriously. SO GOOD! Second time here and this time, had the Mare Tower, table-side Cacio e Pepe, and bottle of rose…would highly recommend all. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention that Beatrix was a wonderful and attentive server, thank you!! A perfect evening at our new favorite North End restaurant.

This place always delivers. The food was amazing. The service outstanding. One of the best dinners I ever had. I sat outside, which was lovely. The only downside is every once in a while, as the wind would shift, we had a foul aroma of garbage. Granted it is the north end and everything is so close. Not sure if it can be eliminated. I would return to Mare at any time. The food and the service well over shadow that detractor.

Amazing experience!! The food, the ambience, the service…all of it was top tier! I went with a group that come from out of town and each of us enjoyed our meals and drinks emensly! Thank you!

Had the tartare with the yuzu ponzu and it was delicious. Also probably one of the best manhattans I’ve had.

Food was sensational! Highly recommend the halibut special and the squid ink pasta with clams was amazing! Busy night, service was spotty.
