Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Fresh ingredients, house-made soups and chowders, comfort food with a twist freshly prepared to order were all musts! Features unique to New England were the foundation – Ipswich Belly Clams (aka steamers, softshells, pissers), fresh Lobster Roll, a Raw Bar with half-shell oysters and clams and, of course, live Lobsters arriving regularly. Lighthouses and other nautical décor highlight the ambience to create a coastal dining experience like none other in the greater Lehigh Valley.

Wanted to take my wife out to a place we had never been before. Definitely happy with the decision to come here. Our server, Dawn, was extremely on point throughout our entire visit. Extremely personable, attentive, and enthusiastic. The food from the appetizer to the dessert was nothing short of amazing. Warm crab dip for an appetizer was tasty and creatively paired with toasted ciabatta slices. Stuffed salmon and seared scallops and shrimp with lobster risotto were nothing short of amazing. The dessert presentation with the little treasure chest of candy and dessert menu on a map inside was unique and fun. Chocolate cake definitely wants you to make sure you save room so you can enjoy. Will definitely be going back to try the other items on the menu that sounded great.

Everything was very good we have eaten here many times, more times at the bar then the dining room. The only negative was I'm a fairly big guy and the booth we sat at was way too small. I probably she have requested a different seat, and I'm sure they would have moved us to a different seat. We always recommend Marblehead to our friends.

We always enjoy our dinners at Marblehead Chowderhouse. The broiled shrimp in garlic butter was delicious as well as the chowder. My husband also enjoyed the salmon croquettes very much. The atmosphere was friendly as always and being it was Friday the restaurant was full. Service was also great.

As always our experience was excellent. We were celebrating our anniversary. Our server made it special.

Blackened salmon was just okay. Swordfish was good. Caesar salad tasty.

Absolutely terrible service. Disappointed we wasted a night out on this restaurant. No waitress for over 5 minutes after we were sat, waited on bar drinks for 10 minutes while we watched our drinks just sit on the bar. No management present whatsoever. I do not recommend this place at all.

Wedge blue cheese salad is delicious. Crab egg rolls with that firecracker sauce. Yum yum

We enjoyed a first time dinner here! The seafood chowder and Manhattan clam chowder were very good! His wedge side was generous and tasty. My husband’s broiled seafood combination was excellent! Baked sweet potatoes done perfectly. I liked my chopped salad with pecans, cheese and grilled chicken,but, some bites were a bit gritty. The waiter was very attentive and dishes were cleared as needed. We would definitely go back!!

Food was very good. We had swordfish which was a little dry. It was a big piece but very thin. Would prefer a smaller, thicker cut. But it was still tasty. The spinach was excellent as was the baked sweet potato. Drink were very good and service was good. Nothing great, but all very good overall.
