It had been a while since we were last at Mapojeong, so we were surprised by the changes to the interior configuration of the KBBQ tables and the menu changes. It was super loud in the alcove with the KBBQ tables so we sat at a booth on the other side of the restaurant. Current menu is more pan Asian than Korean focused. Prices are more moderate too. We stayed with the Korean options - had two sizzle plates (think fajitas in lettuce wraps), bulgolgi bibimbap, scallion pancakes and pot stickers. The food was all very good. The restaurant wasn’t that busy and servers seemed distracted - took a while to get anyone to take drink orders, appetizers came out after mains and had clearly been sitting for a while, which was disappointing. It was hard to catch anyone’s eye when we wanted to order more food or drinks. Ken’s mom was there, attentive and lovely as always. She makes the place.

The whole experience was outstanding. The meat was super high quality, the banchan was delicious and very fresh tasting, and don't miss the citrus ice box pie brulee. Service was impeccable. Definitely will come back!

Wonderful place and staff! The food is fantastic. It has a beautiful ambiance and a homey feel. Stop by the Ready Room next door for a cocktail.

Since I dined here last year, the restaurant has changed for the worst. The service was absolutely horrendous despite there only being like 4 tables of customers. It was clear that the waitress was either new or just not in a career that suits her. The food was good but the fun ambiance that I had experienced with my last visit (before the renovations, I guess) is completely gone. 100% would NOT recommend and will 100% not be returning. Shame, cos the food is halfway decent.

Owner is lovely. The only con is valet parking and they have a large parking lot.

Food was incredible! We had the combination C BBQ platter, japchae, and KFC bites. We especially appreciated the Korean woman who came and helped us BBQ our meat. We thought maybe she had adopted us because she could tell we didn’t know what we were doing, but she was also helping other tables. She was very sweet and gave us hugs as we left. We loved all the banchan so if those were her recipes, please pass on our compliments!
