Maple Block Meat Co. is a tribute to the craftsmanship of butchering, smoking and grilling meat, paying respect to the deep-rooted traditions of American barbecue. Located on Sepulveda Blvd between Venice and Washington Place in Culver City, Maple Block Meat Co. specializes in authentic, wood-smoked meats prepared with the classic technique of smoking with whole peach wood and incorporating a variety of subtle flavor profiles that we love. The food is generally well prepared but the brisket was quite salty. The sides were perhaps better than the mains. The server needs to learn not to stop and take other orders when she has returned to the table to report that the drink order could not be filled and has taken a replacement order, resulting in the meal arriving long before the cocktail. For that matter, she should not stop at another table for any reason prior to placing the order, resulting in an inordinate wait for the food. Generally not too pricey but by no means a bargain. Quieter out on the unheated patio than inside, where the big screen was blasting the football game.

Great food as always. Steak & Martini night - just awesome. The service was just fantastic - she was attentive without being overbearing and just another great night at Maple Block.

The restaurant was extra busy because it was during a school fundraiser. However, our waitress completely forgot about us and we waited over an hour for our food. That’s even after flagging her down four times to ask about our order. The owner finally came over and come to some of our check which was very nice but should not have been necessary because of the very poor service. Even though they were busy, many other tables around us were served and completed before we ever got our food

First time at Maple Block, and was so pleasantly surprised! The beef brisket was delish! Moist, tasty and could not stop eating it! The wood smoked free range chicken was perfectly smoked, and tasty. Best cornbread ever!

Food was very good, the brisket fries were amazing and service was very fast. It was somewhat loud outside but not by a lot. Inside was very nice but had an amazing outdoor area.

We’ve been twice in the past 2 weeks and can’t wait to come back. The food is extraordinary! Highly recommend dining at Maple Block!!!!

Wanted to like it but it was just so over priced. The food was good but 18 dollar cocktails made with bottom shelf liquor and few ingredients was a no go.

We went for steak and Martini night. We had the filet Mignon, it was amazing. The onion rings and tomato and onion salad were also very good. The potato appetizer was great as well. My husband liked his Vesper but my Gimlet tasted like limeade. Next time I’ll have them make it with gin. And yes, there will be a next time.

Overall good experience with excellent food, but they didn’t have any sausages on Friday at 6:30 pm (huh?) and the server could’ve been more attentive (also: when I asked for separate checks he said he acted incredulous, like it was some unreasonable request). Other than that, it was excellent.

The BBQ was some of the best I’ve had in California. Service was great. A little pricey for what you get but the tastes were worth it. No ambience whatsoever but hey it’s a BBQ joint not fine dining.
