I have been to Mammas & Papas over the last 20 years, for friends catch up & family events & this is the first time I was told our booking was only for 1 & 1/2 hr. We were rushed to finish our meal all the time. We only had time for entree & main meal if we wanted a desert, there was no time. The meals were OK but food was smaller and too much sauce. When we left there were only 2 people waiting outside & a big table out the front that was free, a small table inside and our table were free, & I'm sure there was space out the back. Our friends which we haven't seen for a while were disappointed that they were pushing us out. I totally understand that they may want a time limit, but it has usually been 2 hrs. They need to think of their customer and not money. It is hard for all of us financially too, when we have to pay & not be able to enjoy it. We were told it was now 1 & 1/2hr bookings as they are very busy now. That will be the last time that our family & friends (up to 10 to 12 people) will go to Mamma & Pappas when we are treated that way, unless things change. Susanne

Title: Rude and Unnecessary Behavior Ruined Our Evening We have been loyal patrons of Mammas & Pappas in Randwick for over 10 years, celebrating countless milestones with friends and family at what used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Sadly, after our experience last evening, we won’t be returning — and we certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone else. We made a reservation for two via OpenTable early in the day, specifying (as we have done many times before) that we preferred to be seated in the front section of the restaurant. Upon arriving on time, we were promptly escorted to a table at the back, despite our request. When we politely reminded the staff member of our preference, we were told, rather curtly, that our booking only confirmed an hour ago. We even offered to come back later if that would help accommodate our request, but the staff member was unwilling to make any effort to resolve the situation. Frustrated, we chose to leave. As we were exiting, I made a comment, suggesting that next time we’d give more notice in hopes of better accommodating our seating preference. Instead of a professional response, the staff member rudely told us not to bother coming back. While the food and service had always been excellent in the past, this level of unprofessionalism and disrespect is unacceptable. It’s truly disappointing to see how a place we once loved has changed so drastically in its attitude toward customer service. If you’re looking for good food but also expect to be treated with basic courtesy, you might want to consider other dining options.

The food was lovely but I had said on my booking as a note that I was there to celebrate a friend's recent engagement and visit from Ireland. I was hoping something might be mentioned about this or something small done but unfortunately it was not mentioned at all. The food was nice but we were left with our empty plates for a very long time. A lot of empty tables were getting cleared around us but no one came to take our plates. May have been understaffed which isn't the server's fault as they did look very busy. We were in the mood for dessert but by the time the servers came to take away our main course plates we were ready to leave.

Food, service and atmosphere were all incredible. An amazing find in Randwick and will certainly be back again. Value was amazing too.

Food is amazing.... great menu. plus BYO. Just a little bit noisy and hard to hear conversations. But still highly recommend

Really dry barramundi. Did not ask us if we wanted drinks. Food looks and tastes like something you can make at home.

The food was really delicious and the service was very good. This is a lovely restaurant where you can meet up with friends and enjoy a lovely meal that is reasonably priced.
