I recently visited Makawao Public House and was thoroughly impressed! The highlight of my meal was definitely the Fish of the Day, a perfectly crusted Mahi that was fresh and flavorful. I also tried the Makawao Steak House plate, and it did not disappoint. The steak was cooked to perfection and came with delicious sides that complemented the dish beautifully. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Makawao Public House for a delightful dining experience!

Very very noisy. I ordered chicken and she came back and said they were out of chicken . So she ordered mahi and she came back and said they were out of mahi. i ended up with salad for dinner. She was not even apologetic .

Our first time eating here, had heard good things from friends. Food was great! The fish special was the best mahi my husband has had - and he’s had a lot! I had the pan seared chicken with mashed potatoes, and it was excellent! Service was good, family atmosphere. Will be back!

We all had an awesome experience at Makawao Public House. The food was outstanding and delicious! We truly enjoyed the deep fried opakapaka! We will certainly return to this establishment! Only would recommend putting specials on a leaflet instead of QR code. Some of us are not up on technology.

Invited 5 traveling sisters to join me at Makawao Public House. They gave you good ratings. We had pupu’s and drinks: specifically pupu Steak, Seared Ahi, Tofu and Pohole Salad, Fish and Chips, Chicken Wings, and topped it off with a Mud Pie. I frequent your happy hour a good amount and everyone we bring enjoys it too. Staff is always happy to see us. Mahalo for making it a good time.

We have had several wonderful meals at Makawao Public House. Ambience can be selected from more lively near the bar to quieter and relaxing towards the rear. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Smooth service. Very good cocktails, albeit on the smaller side. Excellent variety of appetizers to suit all tastes from very tasty steak pupu to kalua bao buns to large juicy wings and more. Their Upcountry salad is a real highlight loaded with fresh ingredients nice lettuce varieties, fresh strawberries, soft goat cheese, candied walnuts and a light Lilikoi vinaigrette dressing. Their main dishes are also creative from a delicious Kanaka stew loaded with Maui Venison, to a lamb Birria ramen, and one of the best smash burgers on Maui. We’re usually too full for dessert which looks great, too. We look forward to working our way thru their many tasty offerings. Hopefully they will open again for lunch and brunches on the weekend. A Hui Hou!

Food , service, and cocktails were all perfect. Totally worth the drive from the West Side. We can’t wait to go back.
