Booked a month in advance and requested a table by the window but they were unable to accommodate the request. Food was overrated and restaurant was quite loud.

We’ve been waiting a while to come here, and we were not disappointed. Beautiful views of the city and the mountains in the distance. The bar was stunning. The cocktails were a non stop hit and the food was prepared expertly and professionally. Service was outstanding, and coming to celebrate my wife’s dinner, she felt spoiled. Thank you MT - we will be back

Service was not bad but not great either. Food was good but expensive and wine list was very expensive.

Food was amazing from start to finish, drinks were delicious and creative, and our server Kelsey was phenomenal in regards to suggestions and making the experience the best. Would give ten stars if I could!

Not sure how this place rates so high. I found the food to be below average for its price point- given that at their asking price the food should be perfection...Major letdown and anti-climactic given expectations. Ordered the NY striploin at 61$. I had thought that at that price, something else would be included like even a sprig of parsley for some colour. Instead it was just a striploin laying on a bare plate- no attempt at presentation. The steak however was similar in quality to the Keg (if the steak had no sides and was dry). Fries, sauce and any other sides are offered and charged separately- fries = 11$, sauce= 6$ I think. My companion ordered a pasta dish which was FAR too salty. She couldnt even finish it due to the salt and was looking for water. When we notified the server, she simply told us sometimes the chefs double salt the pasta dishes. Our deserts were hit and miss. The Verrine was light and palate cleansing but the millefeuille was the opposite of light. Well presented but the chocolate dollops between the chocolate waffers had the consistency of peanut butter and the ultra overpowering sweetness of unrefined nutella- couldnt finish it. The ambience was nice being on the 40th floor and looking over the YYC skyline and hills to the west. Service was OK but not of the level that a 15% tip on 200$ bill should be- she just passed by for the obligatory check for the first bites then gone. Will never make that mistake of coming here again.

Major Tom is certainly trendy enough but in a nice way with outstanding servers who find just the right balance between attentiveness and hovering. The previous time we visited I had the rigatoni bolognese which was incredibly over salted. I mentioned it at the time to the server and on the previous review. Last night, I opted for the mushroom and spinach pasta which also was over salted such that I could only eat a couple forkfuls. I mentioned this to our server. He was kindness itself. He offered to have a new batch made with less salt but I declined. So he took the dish off our bill. All this was done with great courtesy. Of course, we gave that back and more with the dessert and Armagnacs! Nevertheless, the ambiance, location, the views, the superb wine list, all of that makes up for the culinary blip. Despite everything, we will be sure to return for another special occasion.

Great experience at Major Tom, this was our third time and like the previous two visits, this one didn’t disappoint. The staff and their attention to customer service and experience was excellent. The food was outstanding! We will be back for our next visit soon. Thank You! Jim and Teresa
