We're pretty proud of having opened in the heat of the pandemic and still being here to tell you our story. Maison T came alive through the combined efforts of husband-and-wife team Masayuki Tamaru and Carolina Avaria. He is a celebrated French Chef, originally from Japan. She is a globally celebrated Hotel Chef Concierge originally from Chile. Food is his passion, Service is hers. Our kitchen and front of house teams will ensure you have a beautiful night, with friendly service, wonderful wines and of course extraordinary French fare. Check out our pooch-friendly patio in the summer months. We look forward to serving you.

What an experience! The owner, Carolina, greeting us at the door. She is so sweet and charming. She explained the day’s specials. I didn’t bother looking the menu. It was all fantastic. Started with the clams and cocktails (la Brioche), then we shared the two poissons de jour. Finished with the crème caramel. I didn’t know how a chef could be “known for their sauces” but now I do. Wow! Carolina served us with the help of Jo. Jo was wonderfully professional and helpful. At the end of the meal Chef Masayuki came to thank us for choosing Maison T. He is such a great and humble person. His food is just incredible. I love supporting local. I love supporting family businesses. This is both. Our party felt very at home. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you are looking for the perfect night, Maison T is it.

Very cute French restaurant with amazing owners and staff who care deeply about ensuring a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, especially the pork chop which was the best I’ve ever tasted. Many thanks to our server Chris who went above and beyond to ensure my wife and I had a lovely dinner.

Cocktails were great. We ordered steak frite which was cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly,welcoming and helpful but not overbearing. We had a wonderful dinner and will return again

A gem of a restaurant at Dupont and Shaw. Small and intimate setting, the food is outstanding with impeccable service. The first appetizer we ordered was small (foie gras) and the second (mushroom tempura) was huge. Very confusing for the price. Flavour was amazing though and well worth it. Both entrees were delicious (tuna and short ribs) so we will definitely be back to taste more of the menu.

This was my second time eating at Maison T and I was just as impressed as the first time! I’m so excited to come back again and already dreaming of my next cocktail and food choices!

One of the best French restaurants in the city! We have been here on a couple of occasions and the quality of the food meets the mark each and every time. Went with a group of 6 and we ordered just about every main: pork chop, duck, lamb, fish, short ribs... Every single dish was flavourful, the owners are incredibly friendly, this is always a go-to recommendation!

Another wonderful meal and evening at Maison T. The food is glorious, french with a flair of asian, makes for interesting sauces, taste sensations and options. There is virtually something for every taste on the menu. This time I had the poisson du jour, Ahi tuna with a lovely sauce, while our other dinner companions had the arctic char, pork chop and duck confit. Everyone went home happy. Don't forget the appetizers. Tempura mushrooms are delicate to perfection and great for sharing. I am not a clam girl but my brother in law loved them. Dessert didn't disappoint either with the house specialty of creme caramel being our table's favourite. A special neighbourhood gem that just keeps on being our first choice for an evening out with family and friends.

What was quite a positive experience was soured when we were suddenly told we had to vacate our table or move to the bar while contemplating which desserts to choose. Four of us were dining. We enjoyed an endive salad, we had mixed feelings about the tempura mushrooms (we felt there was a tad too much batter) as appetizers. The vegetarian option, a chickpea ragout was considered "fine", the lamb and duck dishes "very good." I had a special: arctic char almandine. I found it greasy and although when we asked, we were told it was cooked in butter, to me, it tasted like it had been cooked in oil or a combo of the two. It was not like an almandine I had ever had before -- the almonds were dark. I had no intention of eating the skin, but there was a bit of a promo about how crispy it was. I tried it and it not very good, but most of it was not crisped anyway. Regarding the table fiasco, I made a 5:30 p.m. reservation on Open Table, but I didn't actually scroll down to the bottom past the ads and promotions etc. to read the fine print. I never expected that there would be fine print to consider. We were not told upon arrival that we had only two hours and it was not written on the menu or anywhere else, as far as I could see. I checked the Open Table email after I complained and was told it was on the reservation and did see it, but it was way far down in the email, where I had not scrolled. We did discuss it after it was noted we weren't happy, partly because there was a push to sell us desserts that clearly we would have had no time to eat. We did intend to have dessert and coffee. In fairness, had I known there was a two hour time limit, I would not have gone. I don't think it is enough time for four to dine especially for a special occasion. It creates a "fast food" atmosphere, and is focused on churn. I will not return due to the time limit. We went to the Diplomatico on College for dessert and coffee. The manager followed up by email, which was appreciated.
