This was our second time. First was amazing and this time not so much. We asked that nothing be spicy and it all was. We were told bread would come w dinner. Came early. We ordered another and it came when we were done eating. Drinks were minimal/diluted pour.

The food is always delicious. Very different choices from the standard. Indian restaurant service is impeccable and the staff friendly Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good Indian cooking.

We have dined at Mahal numerous times and always loved it. Food is delicious and service has been good, until this past Saturday night. We had a 7:15 reservation and we were told there would be a short wait when we got there. After 15 or 20 minutes, we asked how long it would be and were told 2 minutes. After another 15 minutes, we asked again and were told that people were lingering at their tables over coffee and dessert, but they would clear a table as soon as someone got up. They continued to tell us that, and after about 45 minutes, we looked in the dining room and saw no one was even close to desert - people were either beginning or in the middle of their meals. We understand that people tend to linger but instead of being gracious and apologetic, the host kept misrepresenting the situation and didn’t do anything to accommodate us. In fact, he was downright unpleasant . It was very disappointing and after an hour, we left and had a wonderful dinner another restaurant. What was most upsetting was the misrepresentation. Very disappointing.

It was our first time eating at Mahal. One of the owners and the waitress patiently explained the dishes and suggested what to order so as to get a taste of many items. The food was so outstanding, and a great value. We can’t wait to go back.

My wife’s ginger ale was flat. Had to return it The lamb dish was very spicy after I avoided two other lamb dishes due to spice with the waitress. Otherwise, nice restaurant, Very nice decor.

The wait staff was friendly and helpful. They offered a very tasty appetizer It did get busy and they could’ve used a little more assistance. The food however was very good, tasty and the portions were a nice size. The manager was attentive and discussed the types of cuisine and accompaniments. A very nice evening overall

Unprofessional waitstaff, wanted our order practically before we even opened our menus. After we received our food the waitstaff ignored us, not once coming over to ask how we were to refill our water drinks etc. While the food was very good, the acoustics are horrific requiring everyone to shout. For that reason & the poor service staff we will not return. It’s sad we were hoping for a neighborhood gem.

I ve made several visits to Mahal and it never disappoints. I had lamb shank and mulligatawny soup which were excellent. The ambience is stern and lovely. The service is polite and attentive. I had a glass of white wine but there is an extensive wine and cocktail list. I would recommend this restaurant highly
