Magnus on Water is a cocktail bar and restaurant that features Peruvian-inspired comfort food from Chef Rafael Zimmerman. Bar Director Brian Catapang helms the Pinnacle Award winning cocktail program at Magnus, with rotating, seasonal drinks to compliment the big flavors of Raf's food. Sustainability is paramount to us, and we work with farmers & fisherman who are respectful of Mother Earth, while working diligently to minimize waste.

Our space is polished, but still intimate and cozy, and in the summer Magnus on Water has a large outdoor patio, complete with gardens and fire pits. We also have a private dining room for large parties and are available for full or partial event rentals.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while and was able to get a last minute reservation sitting at the bar. Jonathan was our server/bartender, who made us feel so welcomed as soon as we sat down. We started with cocktails, a Tarantula and a Cocoberry Negroni. Excellent! I love when a cocktail is so good that you feel the need to recreate it at home for houseguests! We shared the Roasted Caraflax Cabbage as an appetizer, which was like a warm Caesar salad flavored dressing over roasted cabbage, and the Papa Huancaina - amazing flavors in both dishes! Our main dishes were the Charred Branzino and the Pepper Braised Oxtail. I thought that the piece of fish was a little on the small side, very thin, but the flavor of the dish was really delicious. The Oxtail was really incredible. I'm pretty sure there was a hint of cinnamon in the dish, which really gave the dish a warm and cozy feel - perfect for a cold February night! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be bringing out of town guests here this summer!

Went to Magnus on Water for Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was fantastic. The pre fixe menu was excellent, drinks were equally impressive. Highly recommend.

Have you seen the film The Menu? This place is kind of like that in the sense that everything is curated and purposeful. My experience felt like being in a stylish fancy restaurant run by family. I felt like I belonged their and experienced food and drink I've never had before and left with a new perspective on food and dining in general. It felt like being in a movie with how well everything went it was all very relaxing. I could keep going but if any of this interests do, do yourself a favor and check them out. Granted you will pay a bit for it but it's totally worth it for the experience.

The food was creative and flavorful. Loved the roasted cabbage chapter one. Pulled chicken with rice was delicious. Soft heat. Will definitely return.

Magnus on Water is one the best restaurants I've been to in many years. My wife and I were celebrating our 7 year anniversary and we couldn't have chose a better place. Our waitress was lovely and was happy to talk to us about the menu and offer thoughts and recommendations when asked. Each course was brought out with perfect timing that the whole ordeal felt like an event and not just a standard dinner, and each dish was unique and clearly crafted with great care and finesse. We also tried a number of their cocktails which were equal if not better than the food. I cannot recommend this place enough and I will certainly be returning.

We sat at the bar and both men behind. the bar were friendly, helpful, & sociable. We started with the Magnus cocktail called, Couch Surfer. It's the restaurant's riff on a Margarita & the cocktail is a little bit spicy and has a luscious foam on the top. We also always have the yucca fries which are a generous serving of crispy, hot jagged pieces. We shared the radicchio salad which included marinated cherries and grapefruit along with something crunch & delicious. We also shared the Lomo sandwich, shaved beef on a toasted bun drippy with goodness and a yummy sauce. The manager opened a bottle of bubbly to pour me a single glass which was unexpected & very much appreciated. Thank you, Magnus on Water for a lovely evening!
