Our restaurant and pizzeria Maestrale it's the wind that brings good and bad weather in the Italian peninsula. Our small family owned place is open for dinner six days a week. Our dishes originally are from Puglia in south Italy: la puccia, focaccia, mozzarella, orecchiette, panzerotti and the sea food dishes, the famous Pugliese olive oil as well as the fine selection of wine are a must! The atmosphere is friendly, family style dining, and also for romantic and special occassions, inspired from the old style elegant Italian restaurants where you feel just like at home, alla salute!

We love this place! Nice, quiet atmosphere with the tastiest Italian food. Our family of 4 had gnocchi, chicken parm, chicken picatta, and pizza. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service is great and there’s also a really nice wine menu. Definitely recommend!

We have dined at this South Sarasota restaurant several times. This past visit we shared a starter of buratta, cantaloupe and prosciutto. The dish was very good with ripe cantaloupe. My spouse enjoyed the Chicken Carciofi, a chicken piccata with artichokes. I ordered the ravioli special, lobster ravioli. I have enjoyed this in the past, but last night I was disappointed. The filling did not taste of lobster, and there was a minuscule amount of lobster meat in the sauce. The service was good and it was nice to dine in a lively restaurant where we could still easily converse.

This was our third time eating at Maestraled and we have enjoyed it. This time we took friends that had never been. It’s a quiet, quaint little place with a nice broad menu. Everything was good and our friends especially raved about the muscles. The place is pretty quiet for the summer but we saw it full last winter. Service can be a little slow, but our server may have just been letting us talk. We definitely weren’t in a hurry. Quite a nice place for Italian, set off in a small strip shopping center.

Our second time in this month. The food and service are quite good, and prices are reasonable. Also a nice wine list. We tried their pizza (they call it "pinsa") as an appetizer. Was really quite good and different, with a crust that is somehow both crispy and soft. Entrees were very good, and there is a nice variety to choose from. This place is not a secret any longer. Go and enjoy!
