Welcome to Madrina, where we focus on seasonal products and authentic ingredients from Spain to reimagine a menu that marries innovation and fun with Barcelona classics.

Our 37ft bar serves sangria, cocktails, and traditional tapas. In true Catalonian fashion, the bar features a ham carving station and a Spanish-style glass display case with cold bar delicacies. The open kitchen provides a window into the work from the brilliant team behind the menu, offering modern interpretations of traditional Catalonian tapas.

We are proud to be the first restaurant in Canada to earn the coveted "Restaurants from Spain" certification, identifying Madrina for the use of authentic Spanish ingredients and techniques. We are also thrilled to have been part of the Michelin Guide in 2022 and 2023.

Our wine list showcases many beautiful Spanish grape varieties and regions, including some indigenous grapes, while our famed cocktail list features wonderfully creative cocktails.

This was a great experience in a cool area of Toronto, *Distillery District". Sat outside before a Blue Jays game and enjoyed some very good drinks & Tapas. Would go back anytime.

Came back after a good experience a few years ago, but we here disapointed by the prices that are just too high for the portions and the ambiance: noise level was very loud and I’m not sure that many tables and people inside was up to code (we almost had to walk sideways to get to our table and restrooms).

Food was very mediocre. We tried olives, the grilled cheese, shrimp croquettes, scallops, tuna potato salad, and the chocolate ganache dessert. Sadly, the olives were the best of the bunch. The bread on the grilled cheese tasted burnt, there was 1 mushy scallop for $20, the croquettes weren’t crispy, and the tuna potato salad was just mush as well. Would not return.

While we are grateful for your visit to our restaurant, it is disappointing to hear that your experience fell short of the standard you expect and deserve. That being said, our Chef and his team are proud to share Catalonian-inspired cuisine that is transportive and delicious. Regardless, we would have loved to replace anything that wasn’t to your liking. Underwhelming. Mediocre food. Just ok service. Overall disappointing experience. Puzzled as to why it’s featured on the Michelin guide?!

The food was good however I do know food pricing had gone up but seems way out of left field. Other people who I know have visited the place had the same comments.

Chose Madrina to celebrate my birthday and had a very bad experience. I made a reservation for 7 but a friend surprised me and they refused to bring an extra chair to our table. We were invited to move to the outside area even though it was super windy due to a tornado warning. Things started flying from our table and getting inside our glasses, minutes later they accommodated us back inside to the same table with an extra chair (how ridiculous can that be), they could have avoided the uncomfortable situation they put my friend in to the point that he wanted to leave. Food is ridiculously expensive for what they offer and did not meet my expectations AT All, big disappointment if you’re familiar with Spanish food - drinks are also pricey, service was uncomfortably rushy picking up orders but super slow to bring a simple beer, it’s definitely not fair to pay 18% gratitude out of your almost $700 dollar bill when a very poor service was provided. Overall, the whole experience was FAR AWAY from the experiences I’ve had at Michellin rated restaurants in different parts of the world. I left the restaurant asking myself how did the Michelin guide even considered Madrina. Today I took a quick look at their reviews and I was shocked with the large number of bad ones they have from unhappy guests, they all report the same concerns and it seems like Madrina does not take them into account. I wouldn’t have chosen Madrina to celebrate my big day if I had read those reviews before.
