The Parlour Tea Room at Mad Dogs and Englishmen provides a vintage setting to enjoy Afternoon tea. We’ve become renowned for our themed teas which offer an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the eclectic surroundings of this unique venue.
The Botanical Rooms is upstairs and hosts our cocktail bar. Here you can experience Afternoon Tea from Wednesday to Sunday during the day and enjoy the fairy-lit bar on Friday and Saturday evenings. We host live Jazz and soul on some evenings.
The Piano Lounge with it's vintage leather sofas and a mixture of eclectic styled furnishings is situated on the ground floor alongside our Whisky Bar. You can enjoy an Afternoon Tea with Piano accompaniment on Sunday afternoons or sample some of our extensive Whisky cocktails on Friday and Saturday evenings. We have live Jazz performances on selected evenings.

    Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Went to Harry Potter themed afternoon tea. We were given a cloak to start. We had vip carriage which was decorated beautifully. All of the food presentations were really special and it all tasted delicious. Waitress was very polite and attentive and we didn’t feel rushed at all

    My expectations were built up too much by others. I was expecting a lot more people dressed up etc or things going on. Quite disappointed but my granddaughter enjoyed.

    The most charming and delightful experience for afternoon tea ever! The staging and setting was outstanding, as was the food, the service and the ambience. We booked for the Wizarding Wonder and it truly was a wonder! The attention to detail is breathtaking. We can’t wait to come again for one of the other themes. If you ever go off set menu, we would highly recommend the ruby hot chocolate. We can’t speak more highly of this experience, we only wish we had discovered it earlier! The best hidden gem. Thank you for accommodating us and for such an amazing experience.

    A thoroughly enjoyable experience at the Harry Potter themed Afternoon tea. If I could offer only one suggestion, it would be more sandwiches, please - everything was otherwise PERFECT! The decor was beautiful, the service faultless, and presentation all-round on point. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

    Had a lovely afternoon and decorated perfectly for Harry Potter but called dogwarts which is brilliant. Staff were friendly and helpful and we asked for plain sandwiches which we recieved. Cute little extra on table which was a potion. A lovely little touch.

    Beautifully decorated, so pleasing to the eye and nice little touch like giving cape for the children to wear. However, suggest they get washed at the end f each day. One of the capes smelled awfully of BO and the other had food on. The table where we sat was nice and the food presented well. However, to be charged extra for a coffee seems steep in my opinion when I have attended similar establishments in London where this has been included. Sandwiches were nice perfect for adults but the same price of £45 per child seems extortionate when they had grated cheese sandwiches and ham. The cakes were suitable for adults, but I had 3 children in our booking and they didn’t like any of it. The staff were super friendly, and helpful. I would sadly say that this place is not suitable for young children. Or if they want to accommodate families. Then their prices should be lower. I paid the tip which was automatically added on - £25 but that really was for the services of our waitresses as they work very hard!
