We had an amazing Anniversary dinner at Maass. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the food to the service. Already excited to go back!

We ordered 3 starters that were all very good. The foie gras macaron was delicious. The bao bun not technically traditional bao bun open face but more steamed dumpling bun was very tasty. The lobster roll starter needed more lobster in terms of ratio of bread w lobster in terms of quality but taste wise was very good. I had the Solange cocktail very well made. It’s one of those drinks that you could not taste the liquor and you could just keep drinking it. And then after that it was a disaster. We ordered the chicken and the octopus (which comes with tagliatelle). We waited over 45 for our main dish. My drink was dry and they just kinda forgot about us. We called the manager over our food came in about 5 minutes and the octopus was served w rigatoni?!?! So we had to call the manager back and by the time I ate my octopus and prawn they served a side of tagliatelle w red sauce at the end of dinner. Then it got worse the table next to us asked their server why was their main dish taking so long as they heard us ask for our food. (they were sat and ordered before we were) and said: “I guess the only way to get our food is to complain like they did” (in reference to us) The other table said: “He’s acting LIKE a dick” in reference to my date and we got into a verbal argument w them. He said I never called you a dick I said you were LIKE a dick. 🙄 The restaurant sent out a bunch of dessert as an apology. Keep in mind this dinner was on a Thursday 7:30 not even on a high traffic weekdend which I could not imagine they could handle. Also to find the restaurant is a maze. Ask for directions when you get to the four seasons.

We made a reservation a month ago. We were celebrating my husbands birthday. Unfortunately they had nothing inside and we were seated outside. It was very windy and we asked if we could be seated inside as we saw other groups of people taken inside to a table wearing shorts, casually dressed which I felt was not the right look for an upscale restaurant. For being the Four Seasons and a Michelin restaurant, the service at Maass was less than desired. We were seated next to the doors. Because it was windy the door was banging very hard and did not have a stop mechanism. We ordered our drinks and starters. We were served starters without silverware. At this point all 6 of us started wondering if we made the right choice to give Fort Lauderdale a chance. We are locals and foodies and will drive anywhere for a great restaurant. I was very excited as I read all the wonderful reviews. The portions were small and the waiter made 3 trips to bring different things that went with our starters. The noise of the door did not make our evening enjoyable. We ate and asked for the check and couldn’t wait to leave. I’m very disappointed in the service and the overall experience. It was supposed to be a special night and it was a disaster. I’m being kind by giving you a 1 star but as a high end entity the 1 star is being generous. It’s expensive and not worth the money. This is an honest review from someone that appreciates great food and impeccable service which I did not receive here.

Our server was MIA most of the evening. Very unprofessional and really just didn’t seem to care ! But the other staff were very attentive. The food was very good! The chef created a very delicious and appealing meal!

We arrived for a birthday dinner. I sent a personal note to the restaurant. We started with the sunset happy hour. The bartender was outstanding and we really enjoyed our pre dinner cocktails. We ordered a snack of foie gras. It was designed to taste like a peanut butter and jelly cookie. Not outstanding. We ordered the focaccia bread and dip which was listed as a snack. We also ordered salad and entrees. The bread dish came at the same time as the salad. The buratta salad was nicely done although a very small portion considering the price. The scallop entree and the octopus entree were okay but disappointed our expectations. We didn't order dessert. Nothing was said or done for the birthday. Not a place to celebrate a special occasion. The service was gracious but a little annoying with numerous interruptions. The main server was great. Other attendants kept coming to the table to remove dishes (even when it was clear we weren't finished) and check on drinks. I felt a little pushed to finish and get the table for the next party. Overall a mediocre experience. We won't be going back.
