Le LuxBar est inspiré par l'œuvre d'Adolf Loos, dont « l'American Bar » a été conçu et construit au début du XXe siècle à Vienne. Le bar a capturé une élégance dans la simplicité ; un style qui a influencé grandement le travail de Frank Lloyd Wright et d'autres architectes américains de la Prairie School. L'établissement doté de pierre, de verre, de laiton et de bois baignés de lumière naturelle, s'intègre à merveille dans le quartier. I've dined at Lux bar many times, and I have to say that this recent dining was below average. We had a 3:30pm rsvp for 4 people. The server seemed 'unhappy' and was not attentive at all. Never came back to check in and ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything after entrees arrived. It took forever to get anything ordered with her. Secondly, the food was average, at best: calamari was undercooked, fries were cold, the lettuce, celery, carrots in the buffalo chicken salad were old/brown on edges, and the chicken was poor quality. Pretty disappointed.

I arrived very early (too early) for a 2pm reservation. The hostess could not seat me early in an open booth, had me stand there for more than 20 minutes only to seat me in the booth that was open the whole time. Was a waste for LUxbar - I would have ordered drinks

I hate to leave a negative review, but I’ve got to watch out for my fellow gluten-free people… I went to Luxbar with a group of friends on Sunday. The restaurant is so pretty, in a great location, and our server was very kind. I told her I had a gluten allergy and asked for a gluten-free menu. Since I was the only diner at my table with an allergy, I reminded her of it when I placed my order. The food came and was, honestly, delicious. However, about halfway through my salad, I felt a texture in my mouth that I thought was breading. I spit it out and it was a piece of breaded chicken. Thankfully, I didn’t swallow it, but even just having it in my mouth could have caused a reaction. I was okay because I caught it so quickly, but this is clearly an issue on so many levels. Not only do I have an allergy, but the salad was completely meat free. Someone who has allergies or is a vegetarian could have had severe issues. Had I swallowed the breading or didn’t spit it out basically immediately, I would have been ill for days. I would recommend going to this place if you do not have any food allergies. Sadly, I am not sure I can return.

Had to sit at a high top instead of a regular table. So much for my reservation. Waited 10 minutes or more for someone to even stop by the table, ordered drinks and food and then waited and waited for drinks. Our food arrived before our drinks. I’ve been here 3 times now. 2 have sucked one was ok. Not sure I’ll ever go back

We had to wait 40+ minutes for our reservation for 2 people even though the restaurant requires a card in case you cancel or are late which seems very hypocritical. We were told we had a long wait because they wanted to save the tables for larger parties. They did not offer anything to us to make up for the wait either.

Food was good but it was so loud in this place that we could not even hear each other talk. Some friends also said they had to shout to talk to each other when they went. Would not return.

Tables are way too squished together in the back near the fireplace. I understand wanting to accommodate a lot of people, but squeezing in too many tables really compromises the dining experience.
